Match Thread Coventry City vs. Sunderland Match Thread - Sunday 1st Mar

Great game that was. Atmosphere was better, thought we looked composed and largely in control. Some massive performances out there. Time to believe?

It’s the large gatherings though. See they’ve banned crowds > 5k in France now also. Seems quite likely to me that it will affect our leagues.

Looks like he’s pulling the figures directly from the quoted source to me. At the end of the day even the experts aren’t sure what the mortality rate will be yet for lots of the reasons mentioned above, but according to this chap (he is a senior doctor with the WHO and has just visited China)...

I like the way the mortality rate is kind of downplayed as ‘affecting the elderly and those with pre-existing conditions’ most. Which is fine if you aren’t elderly and don’t have a pre-existing condition. I guess those of us that do or are don’t matter as much!

Way more deadly, way less contagious. Hence it has always been contained (so far) as it isn’t spread by coughing and sneezing.

The longer uk cases remain relatively low the better. Let’s hope you’re right and the impact is minimal. That re-infected Japanese lady is worrying though.

You have way more knowledge of it than me then, I’m just using google, which suggests that it isn’t clear whether companies are covered for losses. Seems to suggest it depends very much on the policy wording and type of cover. Whilst some may have some form of cover presumably not all will and...

There are lots of concerns for sure and no idea what their rules are for such a scenario. Like you say the lack of revenue could be a killer for some clubs. Don’t suppose anyone knows the answers at the moment.

Stayed away from this the other day, but was a little surprised to see the question being dismissed by some. Stock markets tanking, talk of schools closing for two months (sweet Jesus), six nations / serie a matches off, there’s even talk of cancelling the olympics. I can easily see a...

    Dodgy ref

I agree to a point, but there’s still a line. Not sure many people would think it ok to sit at a concert and start calling all the staff that work there cunts, but it seems acceptable at football. I swear in daily life, I swear at the football to some degree, but if I had a family with small...

I sit with my 11 year old and there’s a bloke that sits directly behind us swearing his head off. I mean I swear, particularly at football, but I always try to temper it a bit if there are kids around. Unlike the bloke that sat behind us one week with a lad of a similar age to my son, who gave...
