Mine used to be proper ginger back when I first grew one in the mid eighties (the stuff on top was very blond). Now it's mostly grey, and much longer, with gingery threads in it. Funnily enough the top stuff is still quite blond (with a dash of salt). It's more Billy Gibbons than groomed. Hardly...

    Sad news about CCFCWAY

Far, far too young. Mortality has a habit of sneaking up when you least expect it, the bastard. RIP fella.

I find cider works faster than beer too.

Yep. Shit Brew XI and great cheese & onion batches. Mum could see the place from her bedroom window, together with the orchard behind it. Now all she can see is the ticky-tacky boxes of Dersingham etc. Progress...

Depper's Bridge rather than Southam though.

I kinda miss Davenports. Never used the lorry delivery, but two of my locals in the seventies - The Bell at Ladbroke, and the Napton Bridge, were Davvy houses. My taste in beer has changed somewhat in the interim though!

    Quest v Norwich

Yes, noticed the Brentford logo. Makes a change from Sheff Wed though. Always record it and watch it in the morning. It was nice not to have to go scrolling through loads of games just to find our few seconds. Decent-ish coverage this time.

I was quite surprised, actually, at the Buxton one in the Beer52 case. Prob my least favourite of the case, which was a surprise. Think it was a limited variation of Axe Edge, called Ace Edge I think. Same strength (6.8) but as far as I can tell, different hop blend. Not bad, but not as nice as...

I was a guest of a company in Munich (that used to do work for us) back in the early nineties. They hosted us one evening in the Augustiner 'tent' (feckin massive, like the others on the Weise) at Oktoberfest. Messy night, but suffice to say I've been a fan of their beer ever since. I also love...

I know it’s still a bit early for Christmas threads but

Borrowed my mate's GT250 for a couple of weeks in 1974 while working on my RD350. Decent little plodder TBH. Mate then managed to write off a tractor with it (and nearly himself too) so certainly a tough little plodder.

There's a private (and apparently very expensive one near us) with a public footpath running through it. You should see the looks you get! Mind you, there's a very flat, well mown picnic area with a flag to identify it, so that's nice.

That sort of mirrors my experience of golf. Apart from the 'tree' and 'green' bits ;) Pub game played outdoors, by people trying to look like they're from Florida.
