    Carabao cup second round

Definitely be tempted not to field our strongest side - we would be playing on a Tuesday (I think) but a long journey, and little recovery time before the Friday night game v QPR.

    Carabao cup second round

GGGGGGrrrrrrrrrrr - at least fans haven't got to go there. Edit: forgot there was going to be the Round 3 draw - perhaps that will make it more exciting!

Come on Phil Babb - home v L2 please, or a TV clash for the ££££s

    Carabao cup second round

add Cheltenham to that list. Gives Rose an opportunity to feel his way back in. Get through that and then pick up some TV money and bow out. The prize money for progressing in that competition is diabolical (about £7,500 if we get through next round?) Also add Newport - they've actually got...

    Wilson on the move

I forgot to factor in loss of income re last season: BCD / ticket sales this season. It depends what we are measuring against, but still suspect that a lot of any CW income will go towards balancing the books - though we'll never know (figure undisclosed!!)

    Wilson on the move

It's only cashflow! You could argue we didn't have the £££s to buy Hamer or Walker (as we probably didn;t have £2m in the bank at the time). If we did want to buy another player - say for £500k, we only have to have the cash needed to pay a percentage of it up front, depending on the payment...

    Wilson on the move

Agree - I suspect if you look at who we've bought/brought in - Walker, O'Hare, Hamer, Osti, Hilssner, Da Costa versus who has left the club -Zainbrooke, Ponti, Ngandu, Walters plus ? (in terms of fees and wages) then we are likely to be a lot in deficit. Throw in the BCD, lack of ticket sales...

If a team set up against us like we did against MK, it'd be fine playing out from the back, as we let Lewington have the ball unchallenged, so neither he nor their keeper felt pressured. If opponents play tight against our defence then I agree we are going to have to play longer, but at that...

    Wilson on the move

Think it is always like this. The only thing it really affects is cash flow, but no different to when we buy a player. It's rarely all paid up front.

How many game ban does Drysdale get - if it's two then at least one of them will be the next round of the cup. That may well be the game that MR has targeted for Rose's comeback (as he was on the bench yesterday), so not much harm done overall. For Bristol, CBs are Osti, Fadz and Hyam. have Pask...

    Ex Player Watch

If he's got time left on his contract, and was previously no 1 keeper he could easily be on £20k a week. He will sit his contract out, unless Wednesday agree to pick up a good chunk of his salary. He may get a short term move somewhere if there is a GK crisis.

    Mark Robins

We got into a groove of playing out from the back last season, and whilst Giles has the pace to get himself out of trouble, the new players - Pask, Drysdale, Ostigard plus Hamer in the middle are still adapting and look prone to errors - some looking for an extra touch. and I wonder if the...

No - not even the bench. Don't think there's any way he will be starting against us next Saturday (bench at best)

    MK Dons Player Ratings

I see where you are coming from with those scores, but feel that Pask did a bit better than that considering he was having to make up for the absence of Drysdale. He is one that needs a bit more game time though. One fantastic last ditch saving tackle from arguably their most dangerous player.
