Paying money for players is always a risk. Not paying for players can cost you money. We are now at a level when we have to pay for players if we want to kick on.

I don't believe anything until our club announces it as a signing. Too many clubs and agents touting for business, too many journalists looking for 'a told you so' while ignoring all the rumours they get wrong.

We are not the only club looking to sign players and players don't automatically sign just because it's Coventry City. Our fans need to realise getting the right players in is not easy and stop believing every newspaper rumour is a done deal.
