The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Germany and France don't give a rat's arse what smaller countries like mine think and never will. We are just a tiny vassal state within the new German Reich.

The crying Honduran girl on the cover of Time was not separated from her mother The widely shared photo of the little girl crying as a U.S. Border Patrol agent patted down her mother became a symbol of the families pulled apart by the Trump administration’s “zero tolerance” policy at the...

The truth behind this photo of an 'immigrant child' crying inside a cage - CNN (CNN)A photo of a little boy crying in a cage is being shared on social media as seemingly another heart-rending byproduct of the White House's "zero tolerance" immigration policy, which separates undocumented...

Poll: How long will Trump be President?

I was browsing Facebook earlier and an American Jewish friend of mine whose grandparents were incarcerated in a concentration camp as children took great exception to Trump's immigrant policies being equated with the Holocaust. She pointed out there was absolutely no comparison between what her...

    Things that annoy you

Yep. Financial journalist Stacey Herbert said they face more restrictions on what they could report in the UK than in any other country that they visited. She said the UK is the only country where they were specifically told they could not discuss certain subjects. She says that is the reason...

    Happy fathers day

His immediate family (wife and daughters) have known about me for a very long time. He appears to have kept it secret from the rest of his family though. He may have had to answer some very embarrasing questions from them recently.

    Happy fathers day

I'm not sure Otis? It's possible my mother has threatened to kill him if he ever reveals his relationship with her and she's insane enough to do it. Both were underage at the time and possibly blood-relatives too although no one is able to prove it.

    Things that annoy you

There was a headline on the BBC website earlier about Coventry being twinned with Volgograd but by the time I clicked on it it had totally disappeared. It's as if the media are under orders to say nothing but bad things about Russia.

    Happy fathers day

It took me 62 years to track down my real dad, although I had a pretty rough idea who he was since the age of 12. He still hasn't publicly acknowledged me as his son although he has in private. He's 79 now so much time left if he intends to.

Lights in the sky over Coventry

Not all. Many thought it was some sort of experimental weapon developed by the Nazis but Allied Intelligence were unable to find evidence of any such experiments even after sifting though Nazi records. Incidentally the RAF physicist in charge of the investigation was none other than Professor...

    UK Prisons

I was watching a programme about life on benefits (Channel 5 I think?) and a young parent from Nuneaton said he was "looking forward to going back inside so he could meet all his old mates". He was visibly upset when the judge let him off with a non-custodial sentence. Says a lot about the...

    Coventry city centre

We've got one in Spon End at the moment. He was last seen lying down by the entrance to Morrison's car park. Passers-by had donated pre-packed sandwiches and soft drinks which he appeared to be ignoring. Before that, he or another youngish-looking beggar was lying down outside the Spon End...
