    Rick Parry is a moron

I did say Grenel "it seems" and tbh only one team is holding up the decision. Will it be a precedent? Otis it sounds all plausable until you realise he is denying immediate funding for lower league clubs who are desperate for money to survive and the logistics of what he proposes really are...

    Rick Parry is a moron

Still don't think we will start up again. Scotland is going to finish 'as is' and use average point formula for final standings it seems. Parry's ideas are just nonsense and the waiting around is killing lower league clubs off for good. Take the millions being offered now from those higher up...

    Coronavirus (CCFC Related)

It's the same for everyone but for sides who had plenty of injuries in their squads they will be stronger for it whereas we had no particular injuries to contend with when this all started. So the theory is we face sides stronger than they would have been. But I am confident we have more than...

MOTD - The good old days

I think over time standards do increase. Who would have thought Carl Lewis would have been eclipsed much later by Usain Bolt? Football is perhaps a little different as there were exceptions around in the game with the likes of George Best and one or two others, but on the whole todays standard...

MOTD - The good old days

Watching a 1980's video of MOTD with Jimmy at the helm and former Arsenal goalkeeper Bob Wilson. Forgot how the format was, but they have just 3 games all with much longer highlights and pick one game from each league. Nowadays it's just the premier league and only about 3 or 4 minutes of...

CCFC puts players and staff on Furlough

What I question is the rules of the scheme which allows you to claim the government scheme up to 2500/month while voluntarily adding a further 20% to complete the 'normal' full wage, which would cover mostordinary people. But the question is are you allowed to claim the government schme of...

CCFC puts players and staff on Furlough

My point is 2500 per month set against a players average salary of 8000 per month leaves the club making up a lot of gap? If the club makes up the other 5,500 then plaudits to them. But I question if this is so?

CCFC puts players and staff on Furlough

Can someone make head or tail of this please? OSB once again to the rescue? League one players average is 2k a week. Roughly 100k a year or 8k a month. The job retention scheme cap is 2500/month. That's well short if you are on 8k a month? So unless our players are on less than 600 quid a week...

CCFC puts players and staff on Furlough

The term is common in the US and in the UK is generally referred to as 'laid off'. However the reason behind 'furlough' is because laid off can mean temporary, but can become permanent. Whereas furloughed means the workers status can not change and furlough means the worker is returning to...

EFL Decision on Coventry’s future expected today

It's a very difficult decision SBD and I get what you are saying, but I'll stick with what I said. I don't think clubs would attempt to sue anyone under the circumstances. It would look bad and they would be given short shrift in the courts. A bit like a force majeur situation. The governing...

EFL Decision on Coventry’s future expected today

SkyBlue Dreamer I see what your are saying but I don't agree I'm afraid. The TV rights and conincidence with all other major sports televised would have serious consequences. Sky will not want a whole season cancelled or prolonged while teams go off playing friendlies. It's unworkable. And I...

EFL Decision on Coventry’s future expected today

I think crucially it will depend on how long the 'lock down' needs to continue. Personally I think there is another 2 months of that alone. Then there are players match fitness, and will require time. So at the earliest mid-to-late June before any games BCD could conceivably take place. That...

Wycombe are 3 points behind Rotherham with a game in hand?

EFL Decision on Coventry’s future expected today

If we can get back and play the season out in a time frame that we can simply run on into the next season with say a weeks break to organise then it should be preferable to all. No pre season would be needed. However I do think it's clutchng at straws. The season should be ended now, award the...

Coronavirus Isolation - TV Shows to Binge

Thought I would add to the list but just to say OZARK is the best latest series out at the moment without doubt. So these are not in any order but all are exceptional in their own genre: OZARK BOARDWALK EMPIRE BREAKING BAD DEXTER GOLIATH BILLIONS SAPRANOS NARCOS GAME OF THRONES VIKINGS BETTER...

    Potentially does not bode well

I see no sensible reason to 'void' a season. But I'm also concerned that should the delay go beyond June then the season could be decided by a panel. I trust under such a scenario City would inevitably be promoted. But what if you are Norwich and told you will be relegated?

    Who’s at work/Not at work?

As an asthmatic you must self isolate as you are deemed 'at risk'. So you should not be going to work? The company can not lay you off for this. They can pay you or they can put you on furlough leave and apply for 80% of your wages under the job retention scheme.
