    European breakaway league

If this League really pisses of FIFA, that strikes as a good reason for doing it.

    European breakaway league

Inevitable at some point really. Most European leagues are totally uncompetitive, with the same winner every year - Bayern, PSG, Juventus, Real madrid, Ajax. Once they decide to move, the Premier League clubs have little choice but to follow. The European games are the big money spinners, not...

    Today’s games

I am not sure which is the result for Preston which ends up with them becoming completely 'couldn't care less' because they are so becalmed in mid-table. A defeat I sustect.

Match Thread Bournemouth (A) Sat 10th

There are only three questions, it seems to me 1. Continue Eccles yes/no - DaCosta is the alternative 2. Play one up front yes/no - Rest Godden bring in Hamer 3. If two up front, rest Godden yes/no - The alternatives are less clear cut and all unsatisfactory So I would stick with Eccles and...

Updated - Relegation run-in: all teams' fixtures in a table

I think Blackburn have not won in 5. They are not out of it entirely.

    Dan Bartlett

Yes, but what is our conversion rate in last 4 years? Bayliss, Shipley, Sam Mac and it looks like Eccles. That means probably 20 or so rejects. Is that good? And the higher we are up the League the harder it is to blood them

    Why the inconsistency

That is all about the inability to score. There is always the liklihood you will concede away, so you need to grab the odd goal to get anything. All the scoreless draws at home says the same thing. Injuries, Walker & Godden not good enough, playing one up front - take your pick as to the reason...

I really like this. Attacking intent, probably our best eleven bar Dabo. This means we are certain to lose

    Liam Walsh

It is this sort of dellusional rubbish that drives me to tear my hair out The official measurement of 'bigger', and th only one that matters, is your place in the league. Currently Bristol are comfortably bigger, added to which they have a better financial situation. Oh and Bristol is a bigger...

    Today’s games

According to the stats iirc Bannon is the second most effective midfielder in the Championship, and I believe out of contract at the end of the season. Worth a look although there is bound to be competition

    Matty James

A Kelly James Hamer midfield is strong but not very quick or penetrative. I suspect long term Kelly and James are vying for the same spot

    What next?

I'd rather go to Swindon, Accrington or Wycombe than Wembley. Proper football grounds.

    Out of Contract Championship Players

Walsh was my favourite player last year, and we have missed his ingenuity. But who goes, Hamer, Kelly or James? The answer would probably be Kelly which would seem unjust.

    Out of Contract Championship Players

a number of these, for all their previous wages, will have poor negotiating positions viz-a-viz a club wanting their services - mainly because of their age. So wages are a problem, but not insurmountable in many cases. The strikers will be expensive, but we should look elsewhere for a couple of...

If you could have one new thing at the Ricoh

That it wasn't a bowl, and had 'ends' and 'sides'. Fantasy, I know.
