    Mansfield, Wycombe, Derby

You can point to the games mentioned as being significant in the context of the seasons and hindsight allows you to do just that. I never felt that the Derby game was a must win or draw even as there are so many games to go but we may look back on it as being important providing we crack on and...

    4 years of Robins today

Up there with the greatest managers of our club. What he has done for us is nothing short of fantastic and long may he continue.

    Big sky blue news tomorrow

but has a road named after him in Nuneaton to commemorate his excellence.....there is a great nativity scene on Raywoods each year for the tourists to look at and I am sure the local neighbourhood is considering a statue at some point.

    Match Thread Middlesbrough ("H") - Tues 2nd March - 19:00 KO - St. Andrews

Yes Boro were really on the ropes...are you for real? Yes it was a poor performance and we were devoid of ideas and confidence yet Boro needed to bring on the heavy cavalry to finish us off so nearly a point.

    Match Thread Middlesbrough ("H") - Tues 2nd March - 19:00 KO - St. Andrews

You are correct, its a match thread, I came on later because I am in Riyadh not Radford and need my beauty sleep. he nearly got it right as it was a late winner, if we had drawn the post match meltdown would have been adjourned. I stand by my post.

    Match Thread Middlesbrough ("H") - Tues 2nd March - 19:00 KO - St. Andrews

Reading through this thread is enlightening. At some point every player is shit, at some point Boro are shit, through all of it Robins is shit. Boro had something we didn't and played their hand at the right time it turns out. Their subs are light years away from our best players and were the...

    Ian St John

RIP Saint... I recall the home game V Leeds in 71 when we won 3-1. St John got the third, Quinton Young terrorized on the wing and we beat Leeds for the first time in Division one.

It is unrealistic but... Own the Ricoh (at least half of it at least) or Build a new stadium at Warwick Uni?

Only the Ricoh for me but under shared ownership and common sense being applied all round. Anything else is folly for us, for Wasps and for the City of Coventry. I was going to write for us to progress but actually we have done very well out of playing in Birmingham so that won't fly. For us to...

It doesn’t matter how many points we get as long as it is more than our rivals.

Match Thread Blackburn Match Thread - 27th Feb - 3PM Kickoff - Ewood Park

As good as team as we could pick giving a rest to Hamer and O’Hare. They will come on at some point so fresh legs...

    Barnsley on a madness

I accept your point of view. I obviously don’t share it and although the reasons you give are valid I stand by my opinion. He is not a show pony, he works hard and I agree he has a shot on him but for me he is a liability once the ref has marked his card. His productivity is then reduced...

    Barnsley on a madness

Whilst on the who is better James or Kelly the one player who has yet to win me over is Hamer. Overrated on here, headless chicken on the pitch and liability after the ref has marked his card in every game. Yes he has a goal in him, shoots which is more than the others but whilst others are...

What was your favourite ever season watching city in the league

I remember the mist, the fear in the air after the game, the fantastic support in the ground, the wonderful performance but I think I am still shivering from the cold after windows were bricked in our coach. The 70’s were a wonderful time to be alive...

    Steve Hunt

Good call but I must say I felt that Gary Gillespie was at a higher standard during that time and Danny Thomas shone brightly too.

    Strengthening in the summer

McCallum has been exposed by the players in front of him on his side, He is often 1v2 and is damned if he commits and damned if he doesn't in some games but not last weekend where we went longer and had a system where we had forwards who could hold the ball and bring oncoming players into the...

    Steve Hunt

Steve Hunt was a good player and was delighted when he was capped by England after he joined WBA. That said his stellar reputation with Cosmos was never quite fulfilled with us. Pele had a very high regard for him and his record for Cosmos was excellent. American team, Coventry, WBA...

What was your favourite ever season watching city in the league

That’s a tough one. 69-70 getting in to Europe, 77-78 was mighty fine, obviously 86-87 truly special, loved 97-98 and 99-00. Pretty much slim pickings every year until Robins came back and last season was great, tempered by playing in Birmingham yet somehow that made it more of an achievement...

Least favourite Opposition player this season

I like the way he causes panic. He is past his best but for nuisance value Akinfenwa is a great option to bring havoc. We play him a quite well but you can see fear in the way defenders climb all over him.

Least favourite Opposition player this season

I used to hate Dennis Wise until he played for us. This season Cook, Dean and Morrison stand out, that player who took Dabo out gets a special mention if I knew who it was.
