    Questions For Tony

One of the most interesting things about The Numbers Game book is how to measure the 'unseen' things that players do. The runs off the ball to drag defenders out of position, the positioning to prevent a potential pass. We don't really appreciate these as fans. Kent and Murphy undoubtedly...

    Questions For Tony

Yup me too. I doubt many others clubs at the 3rd (hopefully 2nd...) tier will be doing this, so we could have a big advantage.

    Questions For Tony

I'm intrigued by this too. Irrespective of which division we end up in next season, player recruitment is going to be key. I'm reading Anderson's book; The Numbers Game at the moment and it is very interesting. Scouts are basing their initial research on stats to narrow down potential players...

    Messi/Suarez penalty

...and just to complete this thread; Suarez missed his 'conventionally' taken pen v Sporting Gijon this evening. Good save by the keeper down to his right. Though he did move a bit early, the disrespectful b@$t/\rd...

    Messi/Suarez penalty

My point is that they're all against the rules, but this isn't. This is like a clever free-kick routine. Really don't get the annoyance.

    Messi/Suarez penalty

In a sport rife with diving, appealing for thrown-ins/corners when you know you've kicked it out, timewasting etc, I'm flabbergasted (just wanted to write that really...) that anyone is saying this is 'unsporting'! Just like the panenka, it's simply a different (legit) way of scoring a penalty.

    Bury match thread

Whenever I miss a game I always read through the entire match thread, it's always quality. The range of matching emotions that other posters experience is strangely reassuring! I arrive home today at about 16:45 with my boy at the front door in his Cov kit shouting IT'S SIX NIL down the...

More News On Ricoh Train Station

This implies that Wasps are hoping to attract brand new fans with the service rather than change the habits of existing fans. 1000 extra train seats costing Wasps a train subsidy of about £15 each? Gamble of hoping to gain that back on new fans travelling and becoming regular visitors.

Would you use the Ricoh Station?

Yup same as. Maybe Cov could start to target schools in a wider area once the train service was in operation as well. Banbury has no local league side within about 30 miles (Cov, Oxford, Northampton), so it's the teams they see on tv that all the kids support. Fortunately, my boy has got...

forgive me father for i have sinned

JSB membership is over 1000 now I believe. The Christmas party had hundreds of kids there (I was there with my boy and it was excellent). The JSB matchday volunteers do a sterling job, but are limited to the area in the concourse. I fear too it would take a change to the rental agreement to...

    Darius Henderson

I think MAF does a good job as a defensive forward. He holds the ball up well and buys the team time. However, it appears evident now to TM that he can't do an attacking job, eg he's not going to come on and help us get back into a game, which is what we've needed lately. Therefore the...
