    U18/U21 Development Thread

Been told that one of our talented U16s players will be off to Man Utd in the next few weeks/months. Can't say who, but Fulham and Celtic are also interested but United lead the way.

    Slade gone

Three or four games too late, unfortunately. Will go down as the worst manager in City history.

Breaking: Slade says issues need fixing... doesn't name any of said issues. Remember when Tim Fisher said there was going to be greater transparency? Good times...

Keep: RCC, Willis, Turnbull, Jodi Jones, K. Thomas, Haynes, Stevenson, Harries, Dion K-E, G. Thomas, Leahy. Likely Gone: Willis, Stevenson, Harries, Haynes. Maybe: Lameiras (on a reduced wage), Maycock, Rose, Beavon. Get Rid: Burge, Bigi, Nathan Clarke, Reid, Gadzhev, Tudgay, Foley, Yakubu...

    Wembley....Chosen method of travel?

Northern line tube from Tooting Bec to Moorgate. Moorgate to Wembley Park on the Metropolitan line. Aim to get to Wembley 90-120 minutes before kick off. Any later than that and the tube will be too packed to get on.

    Willis gone, Exodus begins!

Who the hell sells their captain on the last day of the window while fighting to survive relegation!? It's fucking imbecilic!

    Willis gone, Exodus begins!

Willis isn't an amazing player, but we are undoubtedly worse off without him in the squad. With 24 hours of the window left, I have no faith at all that Slade can bring in another player with similar experience, ability, and health.

    Ivor Lawton

Mowbray liked him because he saw him as a leader on the pitch & made him U21s captain. However, I'm not sure TM trusted his technical ability for the style of football the first team played. But when we're scrapping relegation and having to fight for every point, he's the perfect player to have...

    Ivor Lawton

Never got a chance. ACL injury didn't help but I'm genuinely angered that someone who would bleed for the City shirt has been kept on the sidelines while average crap like Callum Reilly trots about doing absolutely nothing in centre midfield. He could've been the ball winner and tough tackler we...

Looks like Lawton is done at CCFC.

Maybe he was only on a 6-month contract and it runs out soon, so they're playing others because they know they're not going to retain him. He liked my tweet today from about a month ago wondering why he wasn't in the team, so it just got me wondering about his situation.

Is Lawton injured again? Hasn't been in the last couple of U23 squads IIRC.

    red bull again

Red Bull purchased the "playing right" - basically the Golden Share - of a 5th division team called SSV Markranstäd who were based outside Leipzig. Moved the team to Leipzig and created RB Leipzig, as Leipzig had a population of 570,000 and no real top football team. Leipzig - 5th div team in...

    Aaron Kovar training with CCFC

Isn't a starter for Seattle, but has more MLS experience than Jack McBean did when he joined, with a whopping 5 starts this past season. Had trials at Hibernian and Cardiff before Christmas.

    Jay Simpson

Has signed for MLS side Philadelphia Union. Won't be coming to City unfortunately.

Interesting that they've used such a young squad. No Kelly-Evans, Lawton, Finch, Jones, Lameiras, RCC, Harries or Spence. Looks like Slade may well be rotating the squad for the Checkatrade. Either that or they just need all the bodies they can get at training.

Haven't heard anything else since then unfortunately. Interesting about McMahon, if true. He hasn't been to any Scotland camps while at Coventry and hasn't stood out massively like say a Maddison did in the U18s.

    Kevin Foley

Exactly. Agyei might've been 5th choice and he was the first one that ended up playing in League One. There's having ambition and then there's being an idiot.
