Draw is better than being thumped. And anyway we do not want promotion this year, so no, we do not need wins unless you think we could yet by some freak be relegated.

...what did the scouts ever see in Da Silva?

I am liking any post that says we get thumped, because I suspect we will. WBA are the 1-0 experts so there is hope that O'Hare and/or Palmer can produce just one bit of magic and we might nick a point. See Thomas at Leeds

Apart from Wilson I'd go with that. Maybe Wright for Palmer, but KP should be up for it after Monday

We are away to one of the top sides, not bad to be strong defensively

    Transfer Rumour Summer 2024

Each year many (including me) produce lists of 6-8 playing positions highlighting all the gaps. Then, last summer excepted, we have added a couple maybe and a loan or two, but still continued upward in the League. Better to think in terms of the absolute top priorities, and they are where we...

...and 1-0 in 1968. Did the double on them. From memory Ernie Hannigan, the world's slowest winger, scored the only goal.

All these formations just confuse me, frankly. I want Collins and Bidwell in and wright and Simms both playing. As we have gone from top of the class for clean sheets to bang average, maybe we need three at the back Last season Palmer excelled as the main man in the middle, I bit of an ego...

    Transfer Rumour Summer 2024

For the money being spent on EMC and has been spent on Wright, the assumption must be that a fully fit 1st team will include both. It's a lot to pay for less than 20 games as injury cover

You were all right after all, Lati and Eccles were good enough in midfield and Binks strong and the back. I was wrong Da Silva had a great game at full back. All my doubts were wrong, we really pasted Preston......Except we didn't

I am with Otis. For creativity Eccles and Lati is pretty average for the division and they are both holding midfielders. Only Gareth Southgate thinks you need two of those. One is ok, but two.... Suspect Preston will sit on O'Hare and the ball will not move quickly enough to the front...

I was understating it. Robins' most noticeable human characteristic is self discipline and it is glaringly obvious to me that he dislikes players going off piste.

    Play Off Race '24 thread

Looking increasingly tough. Probably not as many contenders as last year but only one place. Sunderland to drop away even under new management - just not good enough. Then there were four - City, Preston, Hull and Norwich. We have midfield injuries, but I bet the others have missing players...

I doubt if Robins did the actual negotiating in the past. Boddy / SISU I'd have thought. Too time consuming and a lot of business detail required. He is now surrounded by a more powerful team including King himself, and maybe is less the 'King of the Castle' - that might not be totally to his...

    Callum O'Hare Replacement

Does he like him or is all we have? I caught the highlights of Millwall last year and twice he rampaged up the centre to lay off to Vik. Where has that player gone? He is more disciplined now, but less dynamic. If you are thinking Automatics then Palmer is OK as a squad player - and finding...

    Callum O'Hare Replacement

There has been so much evidence so far that Wright is half the player as a central striker than if he is on the left. Anyway surely Simms for Striker?

    Callum O'Hare Replacement

It only makes sense if he is CoH's replacement. Wright is very expensive and good on the left. Saka is clearly top man on the right. Rotating three of these makes little sense to me. He must be in the first team, but so must Wright and Saka.

I was thinking about this. O'Brien was pants from the start. Burge, whom he inherited was ok for L2, but not L1. Marosi ok for L1 but not Championship. Moore is not up to snuff. Wilson was protected by one of the best back three's in the history of the Club. Collins is a marginal upgrade on...
