    O'Hare, Allen and Godden

I'm sure Robins didn't expect us to play how we did yesterday. Long balls up to Godden wasn't his plan, it's what the players decided to do when they got scared or needed to relieve the pressure.

Sheaf outpassed Hamer last night and finished with a better %. Gus's constant 45-yard balls behind their defence didn't help.

Some stats from last night: Oh and Boro's CB Dijksteel played more key passes than any Coventry player. That's how bad we were going forward last night.

Our ball progression is a JOKE so far this season. We need to do something to fix that and moving one of our only player who’s comfortable running at defenders further forward may help.

Not really. He has experience playing as a winger, and all I’d want from him is to get the ball and run. If he can do that from an AM spot instead of LWB then he can drag the rest of the team 20 yards up the pitch, which we desperately needed last night with Godden so isolated. O’Hare is our...

If we do stick with this formation, I think it's time to put Giles in one of the CAM slots. Would at least give us some pace on the break and put opposition defenders on the back foot.

Looking at this logically after some sleep

1 goal in the last 4 games says we have to at some point.

We currently play 3ATB and still look prime to be done on the counter. 3 CB’s is meant to make us defensively sturdy and hard to score against. You have to sacrifice an attacker to do it so lose some goal threat. But we still don’t look solid at the back AND we’ve sacrificed our goal threat in...

Video Middlesbrough v Coventry City highlights

But surely it is their fault they look so scared whilst doing it? We had one moment in the 2nd half where the entire team pushed up 15 yards and pressured Boro from a goal kick, won possession from group pressing, and nearly created a chance. AND THEN THEY DROPPED 15 YARDS AGAIN.

    Would you have bright back?

You could get Tommy Hutch out of retirement and he'd worry defenders more than Allen.

Fucking hell Shipley uses his right foot and we could've been 1-nil up.

    Experience needed?

We need pace more than we need experience. Our attacks, bar when Giles has the ball, are frightfully slow.

McFadzean partially at fault for 3 goals. Oof.

Stay calm it’s a long season

I'll calm down once we stop making stupid mistakes that put us in trouble. That's not doom and gloom, it's just basic competence from players that should know better than to shove over an attacker in the penalty area. I didn't see the Swansea game so maybe I missed out on a good performance...

I knew that already. It doesn't make losing 4-0 at home to a mid-table team any easier.

No pace going forward, no pace in the back three, and the defenders aren't technically good enough to pass out from the back. We're not in League 1 anymore and it really shows. It's going to be a long, hard season.

Do we need to look at how Sheffield United play with wing backs? The two wide central defenders have license to push forward on occasion, McBurnie up top who can win the ball in the air and hold it up if they need to go long, another forward who drops deep to link the midfield, and a midfield...

Teams know what to do against us when Marosi is in possession. Front 3 block the main passing lanes to our CB's, then their midfield joins to create additional pressure when one of the defenders looks to move it into midfield. And teams feel even more comfortable to press us higher up the pitch...

We only ever start playing after conceding. Worrying that we only look like ourselves when the opposition drops 10 yards and stops pressing so intensely. At some point Robins is going to have to consider putting one of the 3 cb's into midfield and giving us a chance of competing from the start.
