    Wasps downward spiral...

Lost their academy coach too. Not really going very well for them at the moment. You'd have to have a heart of stone not to laugh.

Bit of a nightmare today if you are travelling by train

Only people with a CV1 postcode should play for or support the team, except for those New Cathedral, Johnny-come-lately, franchise w**kers, obviously, they ain't proper Cov.

    We want to go home.

Funny, cos I work and play footy with loads of Brummies, and I don't seem to get any abuse for being from Cov. Maybe it's just that you're a bit of an arsehole.

    We want to go home.

Sorry mate, but that's rubbish. If you knew anything about Torch you'd know that he lives and breathes Coventry City, Affection for the club is not contingent on living in the city or (judging by the number of Liverpool/Manchester/Arsenal shirts knocking about) vice versa.

    Wasps current finances & hope

Thanks, as ever, for the measured analysis OSB. It certainly doesn't sound like they're in a great financial position. I'm still not convinced regarding valuations or bond repayments, and the CVC deal could come back to bite them too perhaps. Maybe the biggest risk is their debt to...

    Fawaz Al-Hasawi

Maton was actively behind Wasps coming here, and took every opportunity possible to defend them moving - that alone tells me everything I need to know about him.

    Wasps current finances & hope

I'm not sure if this would work either, but I find that if I check the latest bond price, read your post out loud, and then add an evil cackle at the end, it cheers me up every time. Mwah ha haa etc. :)

    Wasps current finances & hope

Watched the highlights from the Wasps game last night, if there was more than 8000 there in reality, I'd be amazed. Either way, to lose at home to a newly promoted side isn't exactly going to bring the undecided fans back. And it must really hurt some of them to have to look at an stand with...

Nigel Benn to return to boxing aged 55

It's a terrible idea, if for no other reason that concussion risks for over-40s are considerably increased. It's one of the things that put me off 'white collar' boxing; well that and the thought of being punched by someone younger, stronger, faster and fitter than me, which would be just about...

Match Thread Coventry City vs. AFC Wimbledon Match Thread - Tuesday 17th Sep

I'm sure he'll be too polite to say anything, but when he starts turning the lights off and puts his pyjamas on, then it's probably time to leave.

    Wasps current finances & hope

As others have said, it doesn't directly affect them on a day-to-day basis, but I can't help but think that it might have an impact on how much it costs them to finance the bond maturity when that comes around. Can't say that I'm particularly sad about that. :)

    The October rumour

I'd politely disagree here, OSB, I think the price primarily reflects the risk. When Wasps were flying, the bond price soared; since the accounting mishaps, a more accurate picture of the real financial state, and the lack of success on the pitch, the price has tumbled. Don't get me wrong, a...

    New Baby

Congratulations mate, and welcome to your new life as a father. It's a bit knackering for the first few months, and what I found is no sooner do you settle into a routine, than they change and you have to start again. It's the most rewarding job you'll ever have though. My only advice would...

I know the end game ..

Without wishing to defend SISU, it doesn't feel to me like the club is in the process of being wound down. To start with, we're still spending money on signings. My guess is that they're hanging on in with minimal input in the hope that we get lucky and get promoted, making us slightly more...

Match Thread Polite Notice (AKA Grendel, Nick & Orca's Argument Thread)

In fairness mate, I think at least some if not all of those emails were in response to the PR battle that the Council/Wasps had started around the time that they'd pulled the plug on negotiations. I wouldn't swear to it, as I haven't got the timeline to hand, but I think there were more than a...

Match Thread Polite Notice (AKA Grendel, Nick & Orca's Argument Thread)

I think what you mean is this place is seen as extremely biased by anyone who struggles to blame parties beyond SISU for our plight. In itself of course, that's a meaningless statement. Whatever the argument about how representative it is, there are a significant proportion of dIe hard city...

Gregor Robertson article in The Times today

Only problem here, NW. is that the Trust don't seem to be holding other parties to account, their sole focus has been the owners pretty much from the time that the trust was reformed. Where has that got us? Every time there's a newspaper article and they go to the Trust for a quote, my heart...
