    Adam Armstrong

I was feeling a bit like that - but I just realised I coach my son's under 7 team in Somerset... I just heard our keeper (4ft) has been snapped up by Barca for £2 mn. Can't tell you the source but he has been to Spain on holiday in the 90s.

Match Thread Norwich v Coventry Match Thread - Tuesday 23rd Aug

That is good to hear. Whilst some slated him, I think he was effective for us, given he was a young lad in his first full year of professional football. I hope he does well (and Madison), even if it isn't for the best sides in the champions league.

    food again

Purity ale is great. Took my grandad around the brewery tour last summer, (Warwickshire brewery) - well worth the effort!

True - though I'm sure it is happening to other clubs too. Would be hilarious if either the pogba or stones transfer rumours had begun in a pub (or bedroom of a wum ) and no truth in them... though unlikely. I must have a look back a few months ago when someone else asked what a wum is / stands...

New Striker- Loan - Jack McBean

We've bean going through the old jokes.... Winter will give us a frozen bean and summer will be a baked bean.

New Striker- Loan - Jack McBean

He looked wobbly when playing on the wing - a jelly bean. His dad is called Pierre - French bean. Puts on a few pounds - broad bean. Plays for our reserves - (second) string bean. I'll follow 'sky blues' and "get my coat too!"

Toby Fare? Obviously a spelling mistake - Toby Fayre, it is a Sunday carvery? Is Mickie Quinn coming back?

We will still mathematically be able to be promoted until March...

    Kirk Stephens

Was my favourite player as a very young lad, before he left (either because he was a defender or his 80s hair style!). Ask him some defensive questions - should we be worried/ would he have let a.martin go / would he try to sign up reda? Perhaps also a question about England defence - how is...

    Those coming up

Well, I'm looking forward to Bristol rovers - seen all the other crap (or ones with character) grounds (ie Yeovil) in the south west in the last few years!

    How do you bet?

I had a good season with 3 1 scoreline to Cov at home and ndlovu to score....though that was a long time ago!

Went to a football match in Brasil yesterday

Well, Moscow isn't warmer - then again, some of the crowd were miserable too, so perhaps proves your point!

Went to a football match in Brasil yesterday

I saw Spartak Moscow v sheriff tiraspol in a preliminary champions league game a few years ago - tickets were cheap, ground mostly empty....and despite walking past hundred of well armed soldiers and being searched, loads of fireworks were set off!

This team screams automatic promotion to me

Agree. None of those daft boots with a plethora of colours!

recommend a box set to watch

As mentioned by someone earlier, West Wing is a must watch. I'm currently watching it again - much of it is still appropriate 10-15 years later and it is so well written and performed.

Tony Mowbray Mulling over a move for Ben Turner (I feel a '?' Should follow)

Definitely not odd, they sell ale from Purity Brewery, based in Great Alone, Warks. Took my grandad here for a brewery tour, was great.
