It's a game of two halves

Oxford played pretty deep too first half. Would love to know if that was similar caution from them or whether it was a deliberate tactic to stretch the space in midfield. Will be interesting to see how we react when we do eventually go 1-0 down in a first half and whether we will we be able to...

There was a very loud 'c**t' at one point in the Sky coverage too - most of it was Shaun Derry on the touchline.

Ridiculous confirmation bias. No chance to parry that out wide because of the angle and speed of the strike and as @mds says, there's a player hovering for exactly that.

It's a game of two halves

The Jekyll and Hyde performances in each half that we saw so often last year look to be a deliberate choice from Robins. Saturday was a return to last year's 4-4-2 with Chaplin getting his first start as McNulty's replacement and there was some striking similarities with much of last season's...

Karl Robinson: "We got kicked from pillar to post"

aka Premier League loanee crying after finally finding out at the age of 20 what men's football is really like and then getting subbed off when he didn't fancy it.

Because the person passing it into midfield is Doyle who has taken the easy option and collected the ball off the toes of the centre back and then looks up to see Bayliss double marked and Thomas and Shipley hugging the touchlines. We're playing deep and wide and that's why we can't keep the...

Doyle is undermining our whole team. Chasing shadows and rarely further than 10 yards away from our back 4 which is ok if he's mopping up knock downs but they are playing football. Bayliss is having to cover half a pitch on his own and so we're overrun in the middle and can't play as a team. So...

A dodgy football administrator and an ex villa player? A pity that Andrew Whing has a face for radio only.

It wasn't until after that virus or bug he caught that he ever looked truly in good shape. There was never any question about his work ethic on the pitch but he arrived at the club looking like someone who had spent a season on the bench not taking great care of himself.

Decent record at West Ham before Spurs signed him but it wasn't til he moved to Spain that he really fulfilled his potential with Sevilla.

Part of me wishes he'd have secured that big money move in the summer purely so he could afford to sort that fringe out.

He's utterly one paced now. Watch him when we get caught on the break, he just jogs back. Now he might be able to jog like that for a week without stopping but there are times in games he needs a gear that he just doesn't have anymore. It might be ok if he's paired with an athlete who will do...

    Team for Oxford

I like Andreu a lot but he's increasingly looked like a player whose been out for a year in the last couple of games. Just think he'd benefit from a quieter week or two. I'd like to see how Andreu and Chaplin get on together too at some point and whether we'd suffer from a lack of physical presence.

    Team for Oxford

I'd guess Andreu is getting benched tomorrow with Conor Chaplin doing the pre-match interview. I'd really like to see Ogogo given a chance to play in the middle with Bayliss in the league. I think Ogogo's athleticism will better compensate for Bayliss' natural game than what Doyle offers on the...

Throw ins - Are we missing something?

That's usually Doyle and Doyle in both cases. It drives me nuts that a pro footballer can't cushion a ball back to a thrower. It's also the only time he sprints now, running over to take quick free kicks. That was the same last year too though - if the plan is to take quick free kicks it should...
