Do you want to discuss boring politics?

If Starmer or Rayner are issued with an FPN, then yes, I think they need to step down. That's because, unlike you and your hypocritical Tory MPs, I genuinely believe in standards in public office. At one time, whether you stood to the left or the right, there was a consensus on this. But...

    Divorce Mediation

I take your point, but I'm just not sure how the conversation would go. "Darling, will you marry me?" "Yes!" "Great. Would you mind signing this please?" 😄

    Divorce Mediation

I'd heard she was getting the house, but the plumbing and wiring were coming with you. 😄 I jest of course, it always sounds hugely stressful going through a divorce. Turns out that marriage is usually expensive at both ends, and always in the middle!

    Can't bloody believe this!

If you can't face chocolate mate, then it's definitely getting serious! Can't have you getting skinny now lad, not after all those recent years of effort to obtain that 'fuller' figure. 🙂 We'll have to get you on that old British Army diet recommended for underweight recruits, chips and...

    USSR invades Ukraine.

I see where you're coming from mate, but the article you've linked to about a joint agreement to provide aid is a lot more vague than Boris's unilateral statement made later in India. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/apr/21/uk-training-ukrainian-soldiers-weapons-equipment I don't...

I think even he must give it a rest sometimes, else it'll fall off. Shows how seriously they take their jobs, eh.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Hands up, who here would still be in a job if they were caught watching porn on their phone, whilst in the middle of an important meeting. There are literally no standards within this Government. Satire is dead, there's nothing you could make up that this lot aren't capable of in real life!

Cheap Laptop for less than £250

Yep, in fairness I've got plenty of kit for my work, and a ton more old stuff besides (IT hoarder alert!) but the school pass on a lot of stuff in Office, and want it back in the same format. The kids do get a student licence for free, but of course the laptop has to be able to run it. I'd be...

    Can't bloody believe this!

Sorry to hear it HH, sounds like you're both going through it. It's easy to say from here of course, but you've got to take care of yourself too mate or you'll be no use to anyone. I think you're allowed to let the diet slip and take on a bit of junk food/chocolate/booze at times like these. 🙂

Cheap Laptop for less than £250

Definitely interesting that, thanks. The worry is that we're tied into MS Office for work and school. With apologies for another probably daft question, can you save Google docs into Word and Excel readable formats, do you know?

The pets are non negotiable of course, but maybe there's scope to make a bit of room elsewhere? 😁

Cheap Laptop for less than £250

I thought about one of them, but I was put off by people saying they didn't work well with MS Office. I also wasn't keen on anything with less than a 128Gb SSD. I could well be talking out of my backside of course, if you've got one can I ask how you get on with it?

Cheap Laptop for less than £250

Sorry, ignore that, the link I was looking at was for a used one on Amazon. Might still be decent value though, it is at least a recent spec.

Cheap Laptop for less than £250

Just a thought, and possibly a stupid one, but does it have to be a laptop? In my experience you'll get more bang for your buck with a desktop PC. As a possible alternative, after a fair amount of research I bought the kids one of these on Amazon before Christmas. Going new for £280 at the...

    USSR invades Ukraine.

He just can't bloody help himself can he? I'd cheerfully acknowledge the government appear to be doing good work in supporting Ukraine with weapons, but surely the sensible thing to do is to not overblow it for the purpose of domestic politics. Less talk, more weapons, would seem to me to be...

    Panorama - post office scandal

It's not blind hatred, it's based on evidence. You just don't like to hear it because you can't square the circle of thinking of yourself as a decent person whilst actively supporting a corrupt party led by a liar and criminal. I can't help you with that, I'm afraid. Just to return to the...

    Panorama - post office scandal

Did he break the law or not? Was it the same law that he went on television most nights for weeks, urging the rest of us to comply with, or not? The same law that even the Queen complied with at the time of a great personal tragedy, or not? This is not the same as driving over the speed limit...

So basically you had no point whatsoever. What an absolute waste of time. Sorry if it hurts you pointing out this government's manifold failings, they're in charge though, own it.

    Panorama - post office scandal

It's a scandal alright, but can you be a bit clearer on the specific role of the Labour government of the time in it? Were there donors to the Labour party somehow directly benefitting from Post Office incompetence and management malice, perhaps? I'm all for challenging government corruption...
