    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

So we have a curfew, France has a curfew, parts of Germany has a curfew. Austria, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Czech, Slovakia similar versions of a curfew. So had badly would UK react to a notion of a curfew or is it so unpalatable that it would never be considered?. Also a bit of context our numbers...

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

I'll declare an interest upfront in that I have an varying degrees of ownership in 6 agricultural companies farming around 22.000 hectares across Eastern Europe, North & West Africa and the UK. Production is predominantly arable but also includes livestock, dairy and vegetables. The UK sides of...

    Coronavirus Thread (Off Topic, Politics)

Bit of fatigue but it's hard not to think schools remaining open this time has had a big effect in many European countries. Our numbers in Hungary of infections and deaths are way ahead of the first wave when everything basically shut. This time schools for those under 14 have stayed open...

Written press was a much bigger animal back then. Would have been difficult to win without them. Blair admitted he was afraid to take them on over their ownership and influence even after he was Prime Minister. Murdoch was even a major factor in getting Clinton elected.

Probably the last positive thing he'll do for the next 4 years if Republicans hold onto Senate majority

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Current proposed Tory policy will cause large problems for UK agriculture as subsidy schemes will move away from production to environmental. No effective policy in place past 2022 for farmers to actually know what income they might receive UK food prices will rise as imports from less regulated...

Then they're going to be disappointed. Unless a deal is along the lines EU wants then they are going to struggle to get it past 27 Parliaments before Dec 31st. Johnson knows the deal - just leaving as late as possible to avoid domestic grief. And having "loaded" the Tory party with Brexiteers...

surely you've got to put in the different colour arrows for non-UK boats in UK territorial waters to get a clear picture?

Backs down on that then what was the point of Brexit? Backing down would basically be accepting the "ratchet" clause?

Numbers of Republicans who now believe election was rigged is absurd. Biden going to face all sorts of international crises over his term where he will be undermined by having these accusations being used to blur the issues.

    The official NFL Thread

Apparently worst NFL kicking performance since 1961. Coupled with one member of the offensive line (Dakota Dozier) who seems to be determined to get Cousins killed this season. Edit. Just spoke to a friend who was at the game. Bailey tried a practice 30 yard goal during halftime and missed that...

My mum's stuck on her own. She's in Stratford which has no cases but in Tier 3. My sister's down in Devon (Tier 2) with her kids. I can't get back because of quarantines etc. So at 79 she could be alone for Christmas & New Year which is stressing the hell out of her.

This could get ugly against the Bucs. Going to have at least 7 players in the secondary rotation that weren't considered good enough to start the season in the NFL along with 4 rookies. Going to need a Zimmer miracle. Can't rely on Cook against a very good run defense either

The EU: In, out, shake it all about....

Devil's advocate is that there is no interdependence if one side has to follow another's rules without any input after Dec 31st and the other sides legal system is the defining arbiter of those rules. That sounds like a co-dependent relationship. Still goes back to referendum when neither...

    Joshua v Pulev

think there's a good chance he KOs him. Despite first outboxing Wilder in that dodgy draw then just bossing him in the 2nd fight I genuinely believe Fury has another level. Fury does enough for the fighter in front of him. But like Wilder Joshua does have a puncher's chance just don't think his...

Trump is my favourite comedian of the year already

Almost as scary is if Republicans see a Trump replica is the way to take things forward and abandon all sense of moderacy. There are some republicans already in Congress who make Trump seem less radical. Can't ignore how many people still voted for Trump in spite of everything.
