Wasps going into admin & the impact on CCFC

Sure he's doing some form of due diligene after getting burnt when he bought Newcastle. But he made good money through buying and selling Newcastle - made about 160 million plus getting his loans back. We don't have the Newcastle fanbase but I'm sure he wouldbe confident of turning us around...

Didn't I read it was 50 million plus proof of funds for 12 million to cover "immediate short-term issues"? That extra 12 million seems likely to be HMRC, COVID loans and players salaries etc. But 12 million seems a very large number.

So Red Bull spend the excess more effectively than Aston Martin can? Ferrari boss came up with some strange equation between every extra million over budget =so many hundredths of a second per lap. Nothing's going to happen maybe some sort of reprimand or team fine rather than points deductions...

I think China still does not recognize Crimea as part of Russia either. Putin cannot afford to alienate China.

Problem is it's never really paid no matter who ran it. The millstone was always the loan that the council took out to complete the stadium. That loan was basically why the original rent was too high. It was the annual loan repayment . By the time Wasps took over it was only half paid. Hence...

Often seems to be looked just how many of them aren't regular troops. Speaks volumes of the leadership and training they've been getting. As opposed to the ragtag conscripts Russia are having to use that are led by poor officers.

Putin keeps threatening to escalate because of weapons sales to Ukraine. WSJ report today that Russia is the biggest arms supplier to Ukraine atm due to weapons captured in working order.

Think Lewis can be competitive if Mercedes produce a car. But he's 38 and that's a big age difference with his immediate competitors. These seasons are so long now that age and energy play a bigger part now than they used to. That's why I'm not keen on these driver comparisons - Verstappen...

He still has allies on many issues apart from the Ukraine/Russia one. Not that he wanted a strong Russia per se just that he "admires" the system where an elite rules and controls much of the wealth whilst not tolerating any opposition. It's a self-serving Nationalism much like Putin's. He and...

Nope. Spent a long time creating a similar political and economic climate similar to Putin's. Concentration of huge amounts of capital and key market control concentrated in the hands of a few key allies. Restrictions on independent media and judiciary. Hungarian banks owned by Orban cronies...

Can't just shift suppliers. Alternative gas suppliers had already sold much of their gas to other countries for this time period. They can't just up production overnight. Cheaper to pay Russia in the short-term than the cost of shutting industries etc. These measures are long-term damage to...

be interesting to see comparative usage/consumption data to add context. Also many EU countries have taken steps to reduce consumption that aren't necessarily sustainable for a period of time.

Great but that has to lead to a way of dropping global price. Cannot have a situation (politically or financially) where gas prices remain anywhere near this level for a sustained period of time.

Take the win and 3-1 record. But the new schemes (both sides of the football) aren't improving as they should. Run defense poor. 2 big money pass rushers that aren't actually rushing the qb. Yet saints 4 man rush was easily getting to Kirk. Can't find a TE who can catch. Unusually WRs dropping...

They don't get it. They are also in a mess (as they were pre-COVID) because they " reached for the stars" that were realistically out of reach. Even clubs with properly rich owners haven't taken on such a risky project. Even a similar project in their original home would have been risky. A...

As in any conflict many of the most harrowing, heart breaking accounts come from the young, inexperienced combatants. One of the reasons I still believe our WW1 poets are among our greatest. But this is such a new form of covering a conflict. Everywhere we are "bombarded" by these unofficial...
