    Thorn's Midfield Headache

Depends how deep we want the team to play. Clingan almost sits on the central defenders and that drags the whole team deep isolating the front two. We need to set up like we did for the Leeds game, front foot higher up the pitch, pressure on the ball, supporting the forwards I dont think he is...

    Portsmouth- what on earth

    Losses

cheers ccfcno9 :) Anything is possible but we have been told that SISU do not charge interest on the loan. Yes there could be management charges but they would have to be disclosed as a related party transaction in any accounts. Previous accounts have not disclosed anything. In theory though...

So how well SHOULD Thorn be doing?

Well given our home record is average you might expect our away record to be similar. So three away wins and around 18th position right now i reckon. Not unreasonable or unrealistic - just average for a pretty average squad and manager Current average wins per team home 7.25 away 4.67. CCFC...

Still looking for loans - Fisher

so what has been said is that we wont accept just anyone and they have to be fit already to play. We havent found anyone that the manager feels would make a difference and some have fallen through, turned us down, stayed where they are or gone some where else. But we continue to look in case...

Can people see the impact of SISU's decision

thinking with just my head not my heart for a second, and with a lot of hindsight..... SISU should have been hard nosed from the start, when they had folk on their side. It would have meant shipping players out cutting costs & suffering on the pitch for a while. They let their assessment of...

    Portsmouth- what on earth

Cheers MD So looks like there might be a policy but no actual rule. It also looks more like appleton is choosing not to use youngsters rather than his hands being tied

Can people see the impact of SISU's decision

Why were SISU in melt down ? There is no evidence that suggests that the funds SISU manage are in trouble. It is SBS&L that is in trouble. All the SISU funds said is we are drawing a line in how much we will lend the group and dependent on the finances being dealt with - pretty much like a bank...

    Losses

Some of that doesnt make any sense CCFC Ltd owns all player registrations (they are CCFC assets and only CCFC ltd is registered with FL to sign players). If a player is sold CCFC is owed that money. That money is not generally paid up front but over a year or two dependent on terms and events...

    Portsmouth- what on earth

Just out of interest where in the Football league rules does it say about if youth team player plays 3 times for senior team then is then registered as first team player? Not saying it is wrong just like to see it in black and white. Cheers :)

Do be fair to Thorn he attracts good loan signings...

I know what he said but he said a lot of things that somehow never happened. Check the reports at the time all talked of loans, and how a loan would benefit Sunderland, they had a gem and wouldnt have sold him cheaply and didnt. We were never in the market to buy him and to pay the wages that...

Do be fair to Thorn he attracts good loan signings...

Just a question ........ did we have a network of scouts working under AT as head scout ? if so who spotted who ? not a dig at AT btw Its one thing spotting quite another signing a player - and it isnt guaranteed some of the names mentioned would ever have chosen to come here. Press reports...

McSheffrey in the Oak Sunday night/Monday morning

Not sure this deserved 16 pages - If true it shows a poor choice by Sheffers nothing more. If a regular habit it will affect his performance in training and match days - but i am sure he knows that. However he is entitled to have drink and time out on his day off just like we are. It kind of...

For those who suggest we are not playing more kids than anyone else i.e. Derby

taking a more long term view @rich87 not a recent one Yes at the start of the season I think we should have targeted higher. Not every game has had youngsters with no experience on the bench either so there are times he has had decent tools to make the difference. Point about setting targets...

    Attractive Football verses Relegation ?

at this point if winning ugly achieved staying up then i would take it However staying up and attractive football are not mutually exclusive. What we need is effective football and we havent had that all season

For those who suggest we are not playing more kids than anyone else i.e. Derby

You know what irritates me is the two opposing attitudes on AT when no solutions or alternatives are offered. I sit somewhere in the middle of those views taking I think a more pragmatic view. Reality is we dont have the money, we shouldnt just expect it either, we have a small squad that is not...

Sisu can't replace Thorn whilst a takeover is ongoing

dont think AT forms any part of any possible agreement..... managers come and go, generally replaceable so why build him into any agreement. Plus given his track record as an investor I would be questionning why keep him - if I had huge amounts to invest I would want to give the club its best...
