    Derby points deduction

That just shows how the "fit and proper person rule" is totally fucking meaningless. If Ashley is the last man standing, he gets the club. Simples.

I can't see this working in the public sector either, with local authorities under increasing pressure to manage ever dwindling resources, the very last thing they'd want is money tied up in properties which offer no rental return.

I was referring to the landlord owning 50% of a property but getting no (or very little) rent. Where is the business model for the landlord?

But that's a piss poor business model, holding 50% shares in property but getting no return on it! Really? Who would possibly do that, and presumably they'd still be responsible for half the cost of any major repairs, which they would pay for out of what income exactly? I still maintain...

There's still plenty of scope for taxing income from second properties. Including the closing of whatever loop holes allow ltd companies to abuse the system. In short, as soon as it becomes non profitable to own more than 1 property you can bet your life they will be off loaded.

Germany also has a far higher state pension than here in the UK. As ive already said, How are uk pensioners supposed to pay their rent on the ridiculously low pensions we receive here. If you don't own your property by the time you retire, you may have big financial problems.

Perhaps introducing prohibitive taxes on income from second homes would encourage people to off load those properties, and therefore going some of the way to redressing the demand vs supply issue that's pushing up prices.

I agree that helping people to build up a deposit is a good one, but maybe tenants should be allowed to have 100% mortgages if they can show that its due to paying rent that they have no deposit.

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

Well where is the money coming from to subsidise the 50% of the property That the occupant doesn't own? And if you don't take out a "massive loan" to purchase a home, and pay off that loan before you retire, then how on earth are you going to pay for the roof over your head on a state pension...

But if they don't sell, then they've lived in a 50% tax payer funded property all their lives! How is that an encouragement for any one to bother buying a home with a traditional mortgage? On another note, will these moves mean that housing benefit will soon become available to people who...

Do you want to discuss boring politics?

But surely you would need to pay rent on the part of the property you didn't own, and if so how are you going to have any excess money left for upkeep? Especially when (presumably) you've had to find an initial deposit, and mortgage interest rates are increasing. And would you be restricted...

Fucking hilarious, they really are a piss pot little club with a big following who are having delusions of grandeur, they were a shit league 1 club last season and will be back there after this coming season.

    Transfer Shouts

Not everyone is kicking off, I think he's potentially an excellent signing. Gives us a genuine first team starter or better cover than we've recently had. Having him and a fit Eccles on the bench has got to be better than our recent midfield options.

    Transfer Shouts

Agreed, but at least we would have some realistic cover and competition.

Good signing for Newport, and the lad should get regular first team football. And another one off our wage bill, hopefully it proves to be a great bit of business all round.
