    Just for reference

    Hamer

Yup. He’s not going to be here. Let’s see where he ends up and more importantly who we replace him with.

They are known for not spending big though compared to Ajax for example.
  4. AFCCOVENTRY

    Who can replace him?

Indeed. There are plenty there and this is one example. The recruitment team under Austin would already have have identified suitable Hamer replacements.
  5. AFCCOVENTRY

    Who can replace him?

Only 21 but great energy and someone we can really develop

He did say publicly earlier in the year he would love to play for them again at some point. It’s whether they can afford him.

You know the real story about Gus? We were only going to keep him at Coventry for 18months max before selling him. It’s a miracle he’s stayed this long with us.

They can’t afford him unless we’re letting him go for £3m

Has to be x2 attackers/fwds and a LCB. When Gus goes a replacement for him (marquee signing).

That’s fine. But any club needs to meet our valuation. Only Ajax and PSV can do that. Unless Feyenoord give us cash and players for him (unlikely).

Hopefully this all ends amicably. If he stays then great, if he doesn’t and we sell, then fine. We move on and Gus is consigned to the sky history books.

Love Gus and what he’s done for us but whatever the reason is, homesick, not enough money or wants to go to a higher division, if he’s not committed to Coventry then we need to ship him out within 4 weeks and reinvest any transfer fee into the next Gus (or similar to develop). There’s no point...

Match Thread Exeter City (a) 29th July

To be fair Robins says we’re going to be off the pace to start off with. Our pre season has started later than others and with such a large amount of new players they’re still learning each others game. I’m a bit more realistic that we will find the opening game a struggle.

I like the look of Bobby Thomas. Some of his long range passing is brilliant.

You can tell the players are still trying to get used to each other. Some decent patches of play. Palmer looking sharp. Godden is just not with it at times.

    Denis Dragus

He’s a bag of tricks as well. One of the brightest prospects to come out of Romania for a long time. Came through the Gheorge Hagi academy. Scored goals at international level. Needs to be settled at a club with good coaching to maximise that potential. Been at the basket case clubs Standard...
