Not seen it mentioned much but Allen's error for the first really annoyed me - he should have cleared that ASAP. Very similar to Eccles vs Norwich, but 6 mins in and being one of the more experienced players I expect better. Thought he had an all round poor game. Said on the night that him and...

    The Forwards Conundrum

Just play Simms. At the very least he’s about 6 inches taller than Godden plus quicker and stronger. He’ll occupy defenders more and leave space for the wingers. When neither striker is particularly performing I’d rather give the minutes to the promising 22 year old with far better physical...

    Transfer Rumour Haji Wright

Semantics He's playing out wide. You don't score 20+ goals from there unless you are playing for a dominant team.

Who let MR loose on the baileys before naming the team?

    Who’s Next?

Quite obviously Bidwell, wrong side of 30 and limited going forward.

    Squad Surgery: Coventry City

I agree, but in a window where we should be looking to sign a top quality CM and two competitive wingers I don’t see how a striker fits in. I can’t see us spending on a permanent deal, and a loan will leave us in the same situation come the summer.

    Squad Surgery: Coventry City

Where does that leave Godden then? If another striker comes in and Simms is second choice he will hardly be seeing any minutes. I think another striker is quite far down the priority list.

    Squad Surgery: Coventry City

We have to get at least one winger in and should be aiming for two. If Sakamoto or Wright got injured we'd be fucked I think. Don't see anyone else in the squad I would be confident starting out wide.

    Transfer Rumour Haji Wright

Wright will be 28 in 3 years time. At which point he'll still easily have at least 3 years left before he starts to physically decline. What a ridiculous comment. And he's now playing as a winger - I don't think anyone would have expected him to score 20 goals off the wing if we'd signed him as...

    “ Ticket Office “

Using the internet to purchase a football ticket is nowhere near as complex as doing mechanical work on a car. In todays society, barring a disability, anyone should be able to achieve basic tasks on a computer/the internet. It's a life skill in the same way that cooking, cleaning, tying your...

    Transfer Rumour Haji Wright

If we're signing a proper Hamer replacement in Jan I would expect it to be basically a done deal now, just waiting for the window to open.

    Sakamoto Chant

    20. I think because the current chant is fairly quick (and long) the time it takes for sound to travel means that as you get further from singers corner it gets all jumbled up. I’ve heard what sound like decent renditions of it. And when we’re away it’s sung well.

    Where do you sit?

    Sakamoto

Japan is a very interesting place for footballers because of this. Mitoma’s first season playing proper professional football was 2020, so he was already 23. Sakamoto’s was also when he was 23. Compare that to Europe, where players are very commonly breaking out at 18-20.

    Funny comparison

It’s quite easy to see why the three of them are a bit all or nothing. Both of our centrebacks are very comfortable on the ball and do take risks. Same with Collins as well. When it’s working, it’s great and gives the team a lot but it goes downhill very quickly when it goes wrong.

    Recruitment has been shocking

Wright looks way better on the left, easier for him to isolate defenders and we are playing more passes in front of him rather than with his back to goal.

    Novelty wearing off?

This exactly. I don’t really get the rigid points system. Let’s say we draw one of the big boys away in the cup, the tickets will sell out instantly but presumably people will still get 20 points- more than they’d get for the Sunderland game.
