    CCFC Stats v League Averages

Yep, leave it with me. Most of that is on a to-do list for one of my next Visualisations which is going to be a direct comparison of us v opposition from our games

    CCFC Stats v League Averages

Some good points there & I will produce some more of these as season goes on to hopefully highlight some other things including how goals are scored etc. Couple I want to highlight from your post: - Yes, O'Hare is most fouled player in the league - We have 0 goals on Counter Attacks so this...

Exactly right mate. Except for Woodwork where we're clearly miles out front so green is next highest.

    Opta Modelling

It's not even stats, stats are factual data based on what has actually already happened, this is using a system to try & predict the future & in the most unpredictable league in the world too. They're never anywhere near accurate.

That was his Achilles though, the hamstring was picked up early days of training with us.

I jokingly said it near the start of the season but I do genuinely think half the stick Sheaf got is because when Hyam made a mistake Clive said it was Sheaf.

Not sure you can put a torn hamstring down to training unless he's failed to warm up properly then gone straight into full on sprints or something.

    CCFC Centre Back Stats Comparison

I agree from watching but, as alluded to there's probably not many you could pin on solely him. Or maybe he was outpaced etc. that's not really an error as such it's just a physical flaw of his & much different to say leaving a back pass short or similar.

    CCFC Centre Back Stats Comparison

I chose not to include them as think it's a bit basic. Take McFadzean's penalty conceded vs Forest away, should he really be judged on that as an error? Wasn't it more Biamou's error in the first place? So therefore not fitting the criteria I outlined earlier. Norwich's penalty that was wrongly...

    CCFC Centre Back Stats Comparison

Not at all Tom, great questions & I should have included in original post that the stats are sourced from a variety of reputable stats sites such as Opta, Whoscored & FBref. The stats selected are deliberately just for comparing our CBs with one another as I touched on earlier due to the...

    CCFC Centre Back Stats Comparison

Absolutely. I have done the Talent Identification qualifications & it's hammered home at every stage that stats are only part of the picture. It's why I was reluctant to compare our CBs with others earlier too as there's too many variables there. Fwiw, I know somebody labelled us as "signing...

    CCFC Centre Back Stats Comparison

Agree with that. It's a strength of Sheaf too, always offering for the ball from the CBs. With Hyam, he's trying his best on his weaker side but yes, I believe he inhibits McCallum's attacking output too.

The Reading main commentator was just about ok but co-commentator was awful, most biased rubbish I've ever heard. Somehow they both missed McFadzean getting sent off though & didn't mention it for a full 5 minutes+ before somebody in their studio got in touch to point it out 🤦🏼‍♂️

    CCFC Centre Back Stats Comparison

I have another analysis of where we fit in the league as a whole for various stats (I know hit woodwork was obviously a hot topic for conversation previously & rightly so!). I'll hopefully get to post that later this evening or before the game tomorrow. Given all the conversations regarding 4...

    CCFC Centre Back Stats Comparison

That's right. Clubs at all levels now are massively investing in data analysts etc. to help identify areas of improvement & also player recruitment. Brighton are a good example actually of how data gets it right. Their performance metrics are consistently very good, particularly in chance...

    CCFC Centre Back Stats Comparison

That stat is from a source I don't normally use so interested to see if it's accurate. They have pretty strict criteria to qualify though. It needs to be a clear cut opportunity directly from a clear error solely attributable to that individual. Must admit to being surprised how low some of...

Only one remotely comfortable on his weaker side I guess.

    CCFC Centre Back Stats Comparison

Sure, I can look to add something like that. This was purely looking to compare our CBs with each other though because if we start adding other teams players it becomes a bit more muddled as we're not really comparing like for like. For example they might play in a back 4 or in a team that...
