We've got some really good options to help protect a lead imo but nobody to really change it in an attacking sense.

Yes, because his role is to get in behind them, that relies on us actually having the ball & getting it to him to do that. The target man role involves coming deep to link play, win flick ons etc. Your target man should always be one of the most involved players.
