Match Thread Coventry v Wycombe Match Thread - Tuesday 7th Feb

I know I said this over an hour ago, but I still can't get over this team selection. Absolute plank.

At least your absolutely battered, I'm suddenly incredibly jealous.* *I presume based on your sloshed comment.

I genuinely cannot get over how shit this selection is.

Literally Fuck Off Russell Slade, you absolute clueless twat. Edit - I take this back if we win.

    That buzz....

Definitely the first time this season (at least since the opening few games) I've actually been excited for a game. All I want is one good memory as a Coventry fan.

    Big walk up

In all fairness if there are massive delays due to queues/resources is that actually SISU's fault or the fault of the stadium owners? Plus, a fair proportion of the blame should be on the fans who have decided to leave it last minute. Not that I discourage a walk up, but at least be aware of...

    New House

Thanks for the positivity!* *unfortunately I know you're right!

    New House

Luckily I have contacts in the bottom two areas, and have a fair knowledge of the first one so hopefully shouldn't get taken for a mug.

    New House

Afternoon All, I feel like a bit of a dick posting this on the same day as Shmmeee has started a polar opposite thread (genuinely apologise sir), but I have news to share that I don't want to tell any "real life" people for now (bar parents), so who better than fellow Internet forum saddos like...

    Is there planned protests tonight?

I believe the protest tonight is in the form of supporting the team.

    Idiots 2

I don't think you can say as absolute fact the protests have costs us points, but I do think you can make an argument for a correlation between the two. I am not suggesting (and I don't think anyone is to be fair) that the protests are the sole reason for us losing points, there's no hiding we...

    Idiots 2

This thread is mental. I thought the protest was pathetic and pointless. All it has done is divide fans, which is evidenced by the last 12 pages. That doesn't mean I am a SISU lover, it means I don't believe throwing a few tennis balls on the pitch will make them leave. In terms of players...

Yep, the pitch is shit, but attempting to play football on a poor pitch will still be better than watching our defence/keeper hoof it, just for it to come straight back. I also think the three players I picked out are technically good enough to still dictate despite the poor pitch.

If I was Slade, I'd think 'who can play my style of football?' then pick the absolute opposite. I would pick a team of footballers and hope our (theoretically) technical superiority sees us through. Also Burge won't be playing which is automatically an advantage from Saturday. I'd go: RCC...

    Chris Stokes

At least Stokes is actually good at football.
  16. Great_Expectations

    Russell Slade

I thought he was the best option at the time; a manager who knew the lower leagues and had experience of being in similar situations to ours. My opinion was slightly dimmed by some people within the game who told me he was 'shocking' and 'tactically clueless', unfortunately they are being...

Help needed tomorrow pre kick off

Great idea. Fantastic to try and make use of the potentially positive feeling, or at least more excitment than usual, around tomorrow's game. It's also great to see it's about the football too, let's hope it gives the players confidence and motivation, in addition to instilling some passion. I...

    Trialist with "Big Reputation"

You should have, it would have really strengthened your point. Joking aside, I agree, we can't go into another game, especially as it's potentially the last meaningful game of the season, with no strikers on the bench. I don't think any of us want to see Rose or Jones up front again.

    Trialist with "Big Reputation"

Just to clarify; it would be a gamble to play him Tuesday?

    Goalkeepers

I've never rated Burge, he's a liability waiting to happen. I appreciate not everyone is a fan of RCC, but is by far the better keeper. His distribution alone should put him above Burge, who either waits too long to release it, or passes it straight to the opposition, or straight out of play...
