Match Thread Coventry City - Colchester United Match Thread - Saturday 21st Oct

Ground is dead. Not really surprising. Confident we will get a victory today, it’s needed before confidence of fans and players disintegrates further. Please can we have some clear tactics today though...

Not too bad on paper; pace on the wings and Beavon hopefully creating from number 10 and an attacking full back, however MR has to allow us to attack and not do the usual sitting deep for 45 minutes.

    Westworld

Just started watching this, currently on episode 5. Still not sure what I make of it yet. Not as gripping as some of the other shows I’ve watched recently, but I’m not giving up yet. I think it partly relates to a lack of “connection” with any of the characters.

What are you currently listening to?

Gary Numan - Savage. Not my usual, but some absolutely brilliant songs on the album.

Phone in Tonight - Potentially something "big"

No and I’m pretty sure I didn’t suggest that I would? Hence the use of the word ‘investigate’.

If it’s windy wouldn’t the opposite be better i.e. keeping the ball on the floor? I appreciate that involves a team with actual footballers in which is where we will fall down....

Haha really? Ridiculous. Any excuse not to come hey? Probably the news NOPM.

Yep, agreed, which is why I think he’s out of his depth.

Dashing back from London, hungover and in trouble with the other half, please make it worth it for a change City.....

Phone in Tonight - Potentially something "big"

Not sure why this has generated such strong reactions. I’m literally non-plussed. No point letting CCFC related news impact emotions anymore, otherwise I’d be constantly depressed. In terms of the bid, I doubt he meant any harm, he’s probably well intentioned, just well out of his depth. To be...

I’d bring Beavon in for Biamou (who I do really like) on the basis we don’t try and play hoofball but try and slip through balls through to McNulty and ultimately try and play football. I wast sure about Kelly at first, but the last few games he’s shown he can actually pass the ball pretty...

    Ryan Haynes for left mid

I’ve never been his biggest fan, but at times last year he was the only player in the team willing to drive forwards and run at people. Granted, LW is very different from LB, but he cannot be any worse than what we have tired. As I’ve constantly said, pace will win us games this year and get us...

Match Thread Coventry City - Forest Green Rovers Match Thread - Tuesday 17th Oct

I feel as though I’ve constantly repeating myself, but we are so tactically poor it’s ridiculous: ALL WE DO IS PASS TO JONES (AND SOMETIMES DUCK) AND PRAY HE DOES SOMETHING. We must be easy to play against, especially games like tonight where Jones and Duck weren’t particularly on it. Biamou...

I think we all agree we need to change something, but does anyone have a feasible suggestion for what/who? JP is the obvious one, but we play hoofball to Biamou so take him off and we have nobody to aim for. We need creativity and/or pace - we have neither on the bench.

As have I - I’ve been banging on about the importance of pace. Although I wouldn’t bring Devon on, I’d prefer to hope McNulty wakes us.

Not a Burge fan but the abuse he is getting is excessive based on his performances this season.

We have been poor, however the goal has woken us up slightly but they are getting their bodies in front of everything. McNulty has been non-existent, once again evidencing how desperately we need a winger. Can anyone guess our tactics other than ‘see what happens’ and ‘hide from the ball’?

Agreed, there’s a always a good choice in there. Great chilli nuts too! I usually also include Steamin Billies in my mini ale trail if I’m over that direction!

A few places just outside Coventry (but still with a CV postcode) that are well worth trying: San Giovannis Turpins The Book Barn (for breakfast/coffee) I’d also recommend a trip to Hinckley (bare with me), they have a newly developed area called the Crescent which has a decent choice of...

We go to the Greyhound before every home game for lunch and a few guest ales. The only downside is that it is often more enjoyable than the game itself!
