What? Simms was rested plenty, very rarely started more than 2 games in a row first half of the season. He's up to speed and firing now and we have Wright who can play centrally too. I mean if Saddle is right and he won't cost more than 2m then he'd be a good signing. I just don't see WBA...

Really? I have trouble believing West Brom would sell what has been their first choice striker to a promotion rival for less than £2m. Yeah Godden is done for us, that's not a high bar. He looked finished in all his appearances towards the end of the season.

How much is he improving us though? 11 goals for a pretty good West Brom isn't exactly tearing up trees and it's not like he'll be coming on the cheap. If we want to splash the cash I think we can do better.

Yeah I don't think we've seen the last of JDS. If we could assert more control of games and have more territory he'd be a useful option because he's much better on the ball than Bidwell.

The calibre of player I'd want us to target for that position (Burrows, McCallum etc.) would not sign to play second fiddle to Bidwell.

We're not trying to appease Bidwell? JDS isn't going anywhere because of his contract (and I think Adi/Robins are keen to persevere with him). Pretty sure Bidwell will want to leave if we bring in someone new because as you say, he's 31 and not keen to spend a season on the bench at that age...
