The Rebuild- Around Hamer and Sheaf

Absolutely no chance that either Gus or Vik stay.

If we've got money to spend

Yep, can’t afford to have a Brereton-Diaz situation and lose £10M+ assets for nothing like Blackburn have done.

Coventry City v Luton Town - Championship playoff final - 27th May 2023 - Wembley Stadium

I’d have rather lost at Middlesbrough in the semis than that. Agree that it was worse than the relegations, you’re kind of numb to them once they finally come because you’ve been shite all season. That was the worst moment I’ve ever experience in a football ground.

Coventry City v Luton Town - Championship playoff final - 27th May 2023 - Wembley Stadium

Feels like it’s sunk in a bit more now and I am even more gutted. Can’t really see us having a better chance for a good while now. Hamer and Gyokeres are off in the summer and while we’ll surely get a decent amount of money in for them do we actually have the scouting infrastructure in place to...

    Play off final ratings

Thought Hamer had one of his worst games in ages today apart from his goal. Was gifting them possession constantly in that first half. Saying that I think we’re probably a Premier League club right now if he’d played 120 minutes.

    Play off Solidarity Payments

Absolutely no chance we get £20m for losing the play-off final.

Subbing on Palmer for Hamer was an absolutely insane call btw. Should have been Eccles on every day of the week and Palmer on later if needed.

    Play off final ratings

Can’t really be arsed to do ratings. Sheaf our best player by a mile. We were appalling first half, much better second half and then faded once Hamer got injured. Always felt like if we didn’t win it in 90 we wouldn’t win it at all.

Coventry City v Luton Town - Championship playoff final - 27th May 2023 - Wembley Stadium

Said after two pens that if it got to Dabo he’d blast it over the bar. The last player on the pitch I’d have wanted talking one. Probably the worst I’ve ever felt leaving a football ground, just beyond gutted.

Accident on the M1. We’re stuck in traffic at the moment, fingers crossed we get through and whoever was involved in the accident is ok.

Nothing any of us posting on here can do now except get down to Wembley as sing our hearts out for the boys. Try and enjoy the day guys, fingers crossed we do it.

Speak for yourself, only thing I’m looking forward to is the final whistle 😂

Coventry City v Luton Town - Championship playoff final - 27th May 2023 - Wembley Stadium

I agree with the sentiment that this feels like it could be our best chance for a long while, which also adds to the sheer nerves felt at the moment. We will undoubtedly get a fair amount of money for Gyokeres and Hamer in the summer, but those two have been so vital to our success and they...

Coventry City v Luton Town - Championship playoff final - 27th May 2023 - Wembley Stadium

I’m the opposite. Can’t shake the idea that we’re definitely going to lose. I was feeling the same before Middlesbrough though tbf, I was so expectant of a loss in that second leg that I was feeling completely relaxed in the build up. Only when we scored that I started shitting it 😂

    Anyone else's sleep fucked?

Don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say it’s all I’ve been thinking about all week. Don’t think I’ve ever been more desperate for us to win a football match.

Coventry City v Luton Town - Championship playoff final - 27th May 2023 - Wembley Stadium

The most important thing is that we don’t let them start fast, and crucially don’t allow an early goal. Not sure if this has been posted but we actually had identical form to them after our draw in Feb to end of the season proper. W8 D7 L1. Add in the play-offs and we’re on a slightly better...

Coventry City v Luton Town - Championship playoff final - 27th May 2023 - Wembley Stadium

Exeter finished 4th and we finished 6th in 2018. League 2 equivalent of 3rd vs 5th in the Champ.

Grimsby at home 2002. We won 3-2 with a late Jay Bothroyd goal.
