    Hamburg protests

The last time I was in Hamburg I protested too. Those hookers on the Reeperbahn aren't as cheap as they used to be.

    Godiva

It depends on what your musical tastes are I suppose but Example is a great coup for Godiva I feel which has been predominantly made up of 'older' or new up and coming bands over the years. Although saying that I'll be watching Carl Barat before going over to watch what I imagine will be a...

    Charlie Gard.

However, they have been given this 'ray of hope' and I would imagine it is very easy to cling to that when you're talking about your dying baby........... Horrendous situation all round.

    Godiva

The year before they put the fences up the atmosphere could be best described as toxic! Groups of lads sat round getting steaming with their own crates, bottles of voddy etc. (Admittedly I was one of the said people) but if they hadn't of changed it, it wouldn't have lasted much longer in my...

    The Gigs Thread

Saw Adele at Wembley last night. Whether you like her music or not there is no denying that vocally she is exceptional! Really enjoyed it.

Lose the Gut Thread (Following on from New Year's Resolution)

Anyone been/go to Revolution? See that they have started doing an outdoor Bootcamp and a couple of lads from work fancy doing one but the one I go to is a bit late for them.

Best Concerts You've Been To ?

Oasis and The Verve at Earls Court 1997. My first gig. And what a gig! Numerous stories from the weekend which culminated in us jumping a train to Wales to go to a 'mushroom festival'.

    Adverts that annoy you

The Lottery ones. "Don't let (insert name of shit celebrity) win". The Fosters one where the twat on the beach says something like "Who can even do that". Loads the more I think about it.

Films Not As Good As The Books ?

Stand By Me was a great film based on a short story The Body by Stephen King. For me the film easily surpassed the written story.

Films Not As Good As The Books ?

I've got to disagree I didn't actually find it a bad adaptation but then it depends on your interpretation of the book. The book is very different but I felt the film gave it quite a good go. Trainspotting is also done very well.

    McGregor vs Mayweather

It won't be a great show. It will be nauseating. McGregor to flip and choke PBF out in the 3rd.

Qatar - the next middle east war?

Back on subject, I have never actually been to Qatar but have dealt with lots of Qatari's through work, including their Defence Attaché, and I have to say I would be very surprised if they were the main backers of ISIS. I have been to both Saudi Arabia and Kuwait on the other hand and, well, I...

Qatar - the next middle east war?

It's quite surreal crossing the "border" and having your passports checked and the UN Patrolling when in fact it actually isn't an official border. The Turkish flag lit up on the hill is a quite excellent bit of provocation.

    Birmingham Airport

I also fly regularly for work and I find it fine! Have to transit in Amsterdam, Munich etc. to a lot of destinations but still easier than travelling to Heathrow, Gatwick etc.

    Explosions at Manchester Arena

Slightly off topic but we granted the Father asylum so he could get away from the Gaddafi regime but Gaddafi was killed back in 2011 so do we not encourage people to go back and integrate in their home country once the "danger" is over? Genuine question based on the Father being arrested back in...

    Frankie Boyle

Remember going to see Manning up at the Walsgrave Working Men's years ago which was towards the end of his career and he literally shuffled on and off stage. His set was just tired, racist, sexist bilge with the only funny moments being when he absolutely destroyed a lad at the front who heckled...

    Frankie Boyle

My exact experience of him as well. Shame because he was by far the funniest comedian around at the time. Have to say in terms of live performances Jimmy Carr was absolutely miles ahead of him!
