Portsmouth set to go into Admin tomorrow

I never said that anyone else would get more than 20 points. I said that I can't see US geting more than 20 points.

Portsmouth set to go into Admin tomorrow

No you asked me if I thought Bristol, Millwall, Donny & Forest would all get another 20 points. The point I was trying to make is that Bristol & Millwall probably don't need to get another 20 points to stay up & its unlikely that Donny & Forest will as well. Hence why its us 3 going down. What...

Portsmouth set to go into Admin tomorrow

So you think we can stay up on less than 42 points? Bristol City & Millwall are currently averaging 1 point a game, so they only have to perform as well as they have done so far to reach 46 points. Forest are at 0.86 points a game which if continues would see them get to 39-40 points, and...

Portsmouth set to go into Admin tomorrow

Ok so we need around 25 points to stay up, the remaining fixtures are: Leeds H Forest A Barnsley H Leicester A Palace H Brum H Watford A Cardiff A Pompey H Hull A Peterboro H Bristol A Burnley A Millwall H Donny H Saints A Does it look like we could get another 25 points out of them...

Would any other football league club...?

Agree with what you say about clubs over spending or constantly sell their best players, something that we've done for years! Its true that spending lots of money won't guarantee you a decent league position, however constantly selling your best will guarantee you a lower league position.

Portsmouth set to go into Admin tomorrow

Good news for Donny, Forest, Bristol & Milwall. Unfortunately I think we have left it too late, even if Pompey finished below us I can't see us getting enough points to move out of the relegation zone. We would need to be at least 22nd in the league for Pompey's admin to help us, and we...

    Leeds?

That game in '96 as I remember it we still didnt know if we were safe or not at the final whistle. I was only young then but I remember the nerves in the stand while we were waiting for the pitch to clear. Was it Man City we were waiting to lose? I think if they had scored we would have been down.

ACL: "If (when?) City go down, we won't reduce the rent"

As you say were still losing money, around £4-5m apparently. Even if the rent was zero we would still be losing £3-4m a year. I don't really see the stadium rent a being a major in our prediciment.

It is now 70 home league games since we came back from a goal down to win...

It will be 70 in all league games home & away. That Watford game we scored first then Watford took the lead which we then reversed. In games when the opposition scored first the Blackpool one is the last time we come back to win in all games both home and away.

Just wondering where this new found belief came from

My thinking now is whats the point in staying up? The few decent players we have left will go in the summer. If were still in the champ next season without investment we will go down in record time.

    Scary Stat..De-Ja-Vu ?

Im not sure for games lasting 80 mins, but I remember seeing a league table for that season based only on half time scores. On just half time scores we would have finished 11th.

Best Cov manager during the Ricoh era?

Adams for me. Did well in first Ricoh season with very little money. Next season built his team around an inform McSheffrey who the board then sold.

    hoffman to meet CCFC board

The only reason there is excitement about Hoffman is because its the only hope we have. The very worst thing that can happen if he takes over is nothing as it would be impossible for him to make it worse.
