Maybe cause there aren't too many players that can ever say they've won an international trophy, whereas if he goes somewhere like Man City he'll win multiple trophies every year. For an englishman an international trophy is way, way harder to come by

Well I'm not going to win too many friends then as I would put England.... well.... almost at the same level as Cov, at least at the moment. But then again I guess thats the difference, you can't switch Cov off but England comes and goes a bit. Its different though surely , you can't compare.
