I actually agree with you. But that has to be across the board. How is it right that deegan can say that as a 'joke' and nothing happens, yet John terry calls someone a racist name and gets in trouble. If terry meant it as a joke would it be ok?
So saying 'up the ira' isn't praising them then?
I'm sorry but the ira are the lowest scum on earth. I don't believe that deegan believes what he says, but that's not the point. Even on the basis of stupidity he deserves to be punished.
Think if I played for a club in Ireland & I made a joke about how good the army were at shooting people at croke park I would get suspended. Would that be an overeaction?
Am I right in thinking that ffp only applies to 'football related income'?
If so owning the Ricoh would make very little difference as all the concert & conferencing money wouldn't be able to go towards the team.
He keeps using ffp as a smokescreen, if ffp is just football income (ie...
Expect first signings in the next few weeks.
Two teams in the play offs last year, one had a wage budget of £1.4m, another over £4m, ours is nearer the £4m.
Trying to reduce costs in other parts of the club to allow funds for playing side.

People complain about mcginnity & I can understand their reasons.
Just remember though he took on a club with debts of £60m, introduced cost cutting measures and got that debt down by about £40m.
Sisu introduced far more severe cost cutting measures than mcginnity yet managed to...
Also people are just talking about the number of signings, not the quality.
Any club can go out and sign 10 rubbish players. At the risk of sounding simple, we need good ones!
If they didn't have the money to turn the club around then why did they buy us?
The Northern Rock bank run happened in September 2007, from that point on everyone knew that a recession was just around the corner.
If they didn't see it coming then that makes them pretty poor business people...
Can't believe this is Coventry City at the Ricoh, compared to what we become used to over the last year.
Seems like a different club at a different ground.

Really starting to get fed up hearing about how well were going to do. Thorn & the players need to shut up and let their actions do the talking in august.
Whilst there is clearly some party political message in your post I would like to point out that since the West Midlands County was abolished in the mid '80s Coventry Council has owned a share in Birmingham Airport.
Its not going to be good for these lads being thrown in at the deep end. If we don't perform this season I suspect last season's 'protests' will look pretty small.
Bringing kids trying to learn their trade into this environment isnt wise imo.
