    Transfer targets

Boro looked very ordinary...didn't look like the Boro of last season that I feared...the only times in the match I felt nervous were when we sat back at invited pressure. Until our second goal and timely subs, we almost let our 1 goal advantage slip again.

Clean sheet was the most pleasing part at the end of it all. Start Saka and Wright, drop MVE and Simms to the bench and I think we have our strongest 11 there. Swansea away next will be tough and somewhat of a bogey team, but at least they don't have Russel Martin at the helm. Hope we can get...

I’d drop Simms and start Wright with Godden up top next game.

Too many close calls. Not sure how Boro missed the goal twice from so close:

Need a second goal. Think Boro are there for the taking. Players look tired and fitness levels not up to par. MVE should have scored. Maybe Simms out and Haji in. Would like to see Saka as well. Too much space between midfield and attack and need someone to connect the two. Thomas looks the...

Yes don’t feel so great about this match on the heels of Hamer leaving. But if the team can somehow feed off the fans or all the pep talks I’m sure MR, AV, DL have probably given and pull off a win that would instill some much needed confidence and get us off the mat. C’mon Sky Blues!!!

    Reasons to be cheerful

I fear we missed our big opportunity last season. Both Gus and Vik would have stayed had we made it. We could have added McNally, Doyle on perms and strengthened further. Just hope we don’t get too down and the new guys gel quickly to take us up soon. However, from the little I’ve seen of the...

    Hamer

Oh well...this has been dragging on far too long and although I really wanted him to stay, it was never on the cards was it? If 15M is what we've gotten for him, then that's very good business for someone with just a year left. At least we have some clarity on who's staying/leaving and don't...

Don't we always start out shit?

No excuse losing to a league 2 team. Lost count how many times we’ve put out a strong enough team against lower league opposition and lost. Embarrassing.

    Hamer

As many have said, having Hamer in the team is like having 2-3 extra players as he covers so much ground both in defence and attack. Scores goals and assists for goals. Blocks shots, wins possession and lifts the levels of everyone on the team. That’s the mark of a true leader. He should made...

Loss was harsh on us. Would’ve taken a draw before the match, but considering how we played and the number of missed gilt-edged chances, I’m gutted to lose that. Palmer had 1 in the first half, Simms had 1 in the second and Godden could’ve scored a couple. When you don’t put those away, doesn’t...

I wish we’d gotten Josh Bowler. Great player.

    Hamer

Just pay him what he wants and extend him. Today’s result confirms how he important he is.

I agree...just have to reject all offers for Hamer and roll the dice for this season

We had so many chances to make it 2-0 and Godden was guilty of wasting most of them. Once Hamer left, we lacked bite in the midfield. A second goal for us could have sealed a win.

Subs cost us the game as everyone has said. MVE looks fat. Kelly old and past it. Wright should have come on for Godden not Simms. Robins out.
