Bit odd. Don’t see Allen as a holding CM, especially against Middlesbrough. He’s played his best football for us further up the field. Sheaf picked up a slight knock?

Hope so, the reactions will take up at least two pages of this thread.

Don’t know what I’m wearing yet, but I’ll be the one smelling of alcohol! Bad timing, but making the most of a full pass out today for the game!

I’m also doing the Nuneaton 10k, my prep hasn’t been ideal this week similar to you I’m paying for a few longer weekend runs. And I also imagine, especially if aiming for 38 minutes, you won’t be hungover on the start line like I likely will!

Fingers crossed then! I’ve spoken to the main brewer before, it was just when Dhillons was first launched and they got involved with something I was doing at the time related to ale. Nice and helpful chap, as you say they’ve grown a lot recently and it’s evident in a few ways.

For a brewery their beer selection is incredibly disappointing too. Last few times I’ve been to the Spire Bar, they’ve only had their lagers on, and on a few occasions only one of those. They literally brew ale, why not have at least one on! 50/50 on the quality of the beer too.

Doubly excited for this; it’s the first time this season I can do my usual (well pre Brum / pre Covid) routine of lunch, ale, a nice walk along the canal and another ale or two after the game. The last few games have been purely about the game, but I’ve got a full pass out for this one! And...

    Running

Start slow, don’t put any pressure or expectation on yourself and within a couple of weeks you’ll see an improvement and at that point you can start setting some goals. Also vary your routes, it’s the only thing that keeps me going. I constantly try to find new areas to explore and include...

We had it bad under Russell Slade..............

Is Arteta not well thought of within the game?

    Match Thread QPR (A) Match Thread - 28th August - 3PM Kickoff

Were more than capable of a win, but a draw would be a good result. Intrigued to see us against a “better” team, especially the stand outs like Gyokeres, Sheaf, COH etc and it’ll be a good test for our defence too, which I think is better than it’s given credit for. It’ll be a good game and I...

    Running

The London marathon is looming ever closer (~6 weeks away) and my training still isn’t anywhere near where it needs to be. I felt great for the virtual last October, but since covid at the start of the year knocked me back I was gradually starting to get back onto 30/35 miles a week and then...

Would you have Tom Bayliss back?

I would. He’s wasted a few years of his career, but you don’t lose potential. He was a player who could make things happen and was full of confidence at 17/18/19 - with the right Manager, team and a run of games he could be an asset. He is quite slight, but other players with similar stature...

    Missing : Bright

Real shame if some of the rumours prove to be true, and it’s disappointing to read the posts from two of the ITK’s which seem to hint to that being the case. He could have been a difference maker this season, and I was optimistic he’d be an ace card to play from the bench when in need. I...

    Where will we finish

7-12 with a not completely unrealistic thought we have an outside chance at doing more. Not getting carried away with our start, but equally it’s a reason for hope. We’ve outplayed each team and won three of those games. The bigger test will be this week, but MR has shown flexibility with team...

    Simon Moore

Certainly an upgrade on previous seasons and seems a very shrewd signing. Great to see how confident he is especially considering he’s barely played for two years - shows a real belief in himself. He’s done everything asked of him so far. If there’s a slight reservation it’s that he’s not been...

    Atmosphere

Said on the match thread; the togetherness of the players and the connection between fans and players is reminiscent of our promotion campaigns. By no means saying the outcome will be the same, but it’s fantastic to be part of. It feels like we’re all part of it and we’re a proper club...

    Sheaf the Kaiser

Not sure this makes sense? If I am super glued on the fence wouldn’t that mean I don’t give an opinion? Re Sheaf, refer to the spreadsheet you keep, you’ll see I’ve always praised him. Don’t get the Danny Thomas reference.

    Sheaf the Kaiser

Sheaf has always had the talent and potential. He just needed a run of games for his confidence and match awareness, which we’re now seeing the benefits of. He also had an underlying injury which has been resolved for this year. It’s part of the reason I didn’t understand the hyperbole re...
