EFL to end season this week - City likely to be promoted

No idea about the EFL rules but I hope that behind the scenes we are trying to influence other teams, as much as Peterborough are doing publically.

    Accrington Chairman on twitter

The football administration rules are that football creditors have to be paid in full, precisely to prevent the outcome you set out, and all payments have to be made in full before clubs can retake their place in the league. It's businesses outside the football bubble that generally lose out.

    Accrington Chairman on twitter

Not a chance that every club would agree to joint administration, and no club should go down that route unless its absolutely necessary. I think its morally abhorrent to use it as a deliberate tactic to avoid paying your debts, particularly with the negative knock on effect that can have on...

    Accrington Chairman on twitter

The trouble is the way it is looking BCD games will be here until maybe Christmas and beyond. It will frankly be ridiculous if everyone else has to return to work, but footballers don't because their clubs don't want to pay their wages. I don't see the Government allowing that to happen, and...

    Alexi Lalas question.

To be fair, Jones might have done better if he had stayed a 2nd year and had more time to settle in, but Atkinson had come in by then who never played him. Ironically the last game he played for us was also Phil Neal's last, when Jones scored in a 2-0 win at Palace. He has more caps for USA than...

    Out of contract

Seems like Hiwula has sulked since he lost his place, which has helped MR decide to put him behind Biamou and Bakayoko, as well as Godden. Since he lost his place I don't think the team have missed him at all. We need to move on, and so does he. He will probably find another League 1 team that...

    Out of contract

Apart from Hyam and Jones, Westbrooke is the only one I would offer another contract. There will plenty of better players available to replace the others. I'm glad that we got Hyam tied up early which is something we've often failed to do in the past.

    Unbeaten Run

I didn't see us losing another game either. I guess if we had wrapped up the title early there is a chance we might have taken our foot off the gas in any 'dead' games after, but if we carried on playing like we were no other team in this league could match us.

    Premier League

Of course you are right about Norwich's self interest. Everyone seems so confident on here that we will be named Champions and promoted if as looks likely from all the soundbites, that the season is cancelled. This confidence makes me slightly uncomfortable though, and a swift look through other...

Season at the half way point.

I agree I don't think there is any chance they will use this system, but I understand it is based on the table after 22 games whereby every team has played the other once. It is difficult to work out in our League because of the Bury situation. Even taking everyone's points tally after 22 games...

    Alexi Lalas question.

It's in my mind that Ivanov got sent off in a reserve game but I'm not absolutely sure. Might explain why the manager (Neal?) might not have gone through with signing him.

    Alexi Lalas question.

If I remember right there was a German team interested too - Wolfsburg rings a bell. Anyhow it looks like it was never really close to happening. Remember Ivanov coming, who had been brilliant in the World Cup so not sure how he was not deemed good enough for us. Got a vague recollection that we...

Video CLASSIC HIGHLIGHTS | Tottenham Hotspur 1-2 Coventry City, 11th May 1997

With players like McAllister, Ndlovu, Whelan, Huckerby, Dublin and even Jess playing I'm not sure we should really have been in a position to go down. I guess it was our poor defence which counter balanced that attacking talent.

German start next week thrown into Doubt

    So many threads on this - Poor Dresden just can't catch a break! 15 Bochum 25 6 10 9 40 45 -5 28 16 Wiesbaden 25 6 7 12 31 43 -12 25 17 Karlsruhe 25 5 9 11 33 46 -13 24 18 Dresden 25 6 6 13 25 41 -16 24

    Bundesliga going ahead

Nothing to do with them being bottom of the league though!

    Difficulty with EPL restart

I'm slightly suspicious of the Dresden outbreak too. As the team bottom of Bundesliga 2, they are probably hoping for a no relegation scenario, so putting a spanner in the works of restarting appears to work to their favour.

    Championies, Championies

I wasn't aware this had been decided. How is the voting constituency being made up? Are the Leagues voting separately, or are all 71 clubs voting together?
  18. L

    Championies, Championies

Of course, but the EFL will decide how the vote works, which will have huge significance to the eventual outcome. For instance do the 3 leagues decide together, or do they decide by individual league, or as suggested League 1 and League 2 are separated for voting purposes from the Championship...

    Can we compete

If we are promoted, this current situation could work to our favour, and give us a better chance of competing than in any normal season. BCD games will badly affect those Championship clubs with the highest expenditures, and clubs will have to make tough decisions about maintaining those high...

    Championies, Championies

I'm not sure who it favours, Ipswich probably, but definitely not us. It plays to the argument that every team has played each other, and supposedly simplifies the mathematical arguments about using PPG or working out the strength of opposition left to play in the games remaining. I can't see...
