I hate fouls like that, clearly absolutely cynical with zero attempt at the ball, but because it’s not a leg breaking two footer, it’s only ever a yellow at best.

Front two aren’t involved enough at all. Gyokeres more involved than Godden, but he can’t get the space he needs - he’s being well marshalled / him and Godden not great foils for one another today.

BNC back to the BNC of pre-Sunderland. I really really struggle to see what he offers; for someone who is supposed to be an attacking WB, his attacking play is bang average at best. It’s been obvious since his first game - his positional play in both directions is terrible. Still time for him...

Said it last game; I really like Eccles and he’s a tidy player who recycles the ball well (generally) with good technique, but he’s looked a bit lightweight again so far tonight.

I know Ryan Lowe is a tosser, but I can’t recall why? Did he do/say something about us? Or is it just his general antics?

The reaction of the players and MR indicates to me they truly believe we are in the play off hunt, so I think that desire and motivation will see us overcome this stupid Deepdale stat. We’re the better team and it’ll show tonight.

    McNally

I really think there’s a strong chance we’ll get him in the summer. He wasn’t an impromptu January buy - he was on the radar. He wasn’t getting game time at Burnley in the Championship so there’s no chance in the Prem. I put tongue in cheek on the other thread, but there is a truth to it, his...

    Bidwell

JWE debate is silly too. He’s been here a few weeks and barely played. Did he look lost today - yep. Does he look talentless as a footballer - no. He gives us an offensive LWB option and it’s good to have that variance. We’ve seen glimpses of his positivity on the ball - that offensive threat...

    Bidwell

Bidwell was really good today - I was especially impressed with his pressing, there was a spell in the second half where he continues to press and forced mistakes. He was against a very good player but I always felt confident he would use all his experience to deal with him. Which he did.

Great to see the camaraderie amongst the team in that celebration. Love how passionate McNally was too - let’s take it as a sign he is 100% signing in the summer.

O’Nien has literally been brought on to foul Vik.

Eccles is a good footballer and surprisingly for a young player had the potential to be a leader - he’s encouraging others and in the refs ear a lot. However, he’s looked a bit lightweight today, which is why I don’t mind that tackle too much, he’s probably conscious of it and trying to make a...

Unbelievable team goal. Top battling, unselfish Vik and great finish Allen. Also, their heads have gone.

Queues to get in, queues for the usually quiet toilets, and overall a good buzz around the ground. Big game feel so far, let’s hope the performance matches.

I said it a few days ago, but even more so now, I’m really looking forward to today. The Sunderland aspect adds an extra spice to the game, but for me it’s about the importance of three points - regardless of who the opposition is. Three points and three wins on the bounce is definite sign of...

Agree re O’Nien he’s such a poor footballer, however I am worried he’ll end up injuring Vik. Especially as Gyokeres often pulls onto the opposing RB and he’ll clearly have his pants down so I’d expect O’Nien to retaliate. However, while he isn’t the ideal attacking threat, Bidwell is as solid...
