    Mk ticket sales update

I love the way that people pick and choose what they consider to be "ironic". It appears that it is "ironic" for Coventry fans who won't go to Sixfields, to follow the team to MK - however it is not "ironic" for posters who protest (rightly in my view) that Coventry fans should not be...

To be honest, I thought you looked much more dangerous in the first half, when you were working the ball out to the left a lot. Whether we cut off that route or PP changed tactics I'm not sure, but I thought that you looked much less likely to score from open play in the second half.

As I said, for some it is. Winning is obviously important, but for some others the actual football matters too.

Wells was offside for their second goal.

It's true that for some, results are everything. Others prefer a little entertainment. The good thing is that decent football and decent results are not necessarily mutually exclusive.

In pre season game at Nuneaton, he played wide right. Looked pretty pacey and pretty good that day.

    A record possibly broken

It was at the end of the 95/96 season. We had about 8,000 there and I've just looked up the attendance - which was 15,796, so we must have been pretty close to having more than half the crowd.

    MK Dons Away

Which irony? The irony of Coventry fans travelling to see their team play away to a team that only exists because of owners who moved them away from their original home or The irony of posters who froth with indignation when any Coventry fan is criticised for "supporting their team" at...

SISU will never build a new Stadium

True, but were you referring to Tim or Joy?

Do you honestly think that there was ever any chance of getting similar (or even significant) numbers to go to Bristol? The theory may be sound, but it comes to practicality. Look at the numbers that we've had "on the hill", or (to add balance) protesting outside the council offices. And if...

I was referring to the relative distances of Northampton and MK from Coventry. Are MK thriving? An upper mid-table third division team with OKish crowds. I'd bet that this wasn't where they saw themselves when they moved the club.

    Your desired away kit

I seem to recall a red shirts and blue shorts away kit in the early 70's - just after the green & black stripes kit.

I'm uncomfortable about going to MK, but appease my conscience with the fact that the Wimbledon fans went there in the Cup. For me, the proximity of the game and the availability of the large number of tickets give us the opportunity to reinforce to SISU/Otium, to the Football League, to...

In my opinion NW is one of the better and more thought provoking posters on the site. He's always happy to support and debate his comments and views and is well worth a read, except for those occasions where he gets it wrong and disagrees with me :)

True in recent years, but in the (good) old days you could get many thousands in places like the South Bank at Wolves.

Sadly that's true. Lots of talent, but it never really happened for him with us. As I recall he was a big hero in Aberdeen from the way he handled the move to us.

It was the first time Dion played centre back. We played with a back 3, with Shaw and Borrows. 2 great goals from Nuddy and probably Eion Jess's best game for us.

I take your point, but I think that the immediate message will be that (most) Coventry fans refuse to attend Sixfields, but still want to watch and support their team. As for the longer term, I guess there are now fans attending MK games who were not born when the club was taken from its...

    Question for PWKH

I'm sure that what he said was factually (if predantically) correct. I'm equally sure that it would have been very simple to construct a "legal" way of reaching the same result using a conditional contract.

That must explain why "we" are permanently disappointed then.
