If we are planning to play him centrally it looks like a reaction to the Sheaf injury as much as anything else. I'll judge our business at the end of the window.

It depends what we do elsewhere. If we bring in Rak Sakyi as well I'm happy with it, Paterson will just be a depth option. If he's our only signing it's disappointing yes. But not worth throwing our toys out the pram at this stage.

This is a bit of a myth. He only signed with a few months left of the season, I would guess he never really got up to fitness while he was there.

He couldn't get a game in the SPL. We'd have to replace MVE if he left, anything else would be a disaster.
