    Comebacks

You're right. I'm pretty sure that it was a League Cup match. We were 2-0 down at half time and not playing well. Now if I remember correctly, Dion had been out injured for a few games and hadn't been expected to be fit in time for the game, but was on the bench. He came on at half time...

The nature of a football club

Speaking from memory, in the early days of satellite TV Sky were making a loss and struggling to attract sufficient customers. They'd been working on the basis that the movie channels would bring in subscribers, but people were still happy to go to Blockbuster etc. It was when they got live...

The club (well, SISU) have indeed stated that they won't take a rental deal at the Ricoh - they have never however put forward a rational explanation for this stance. On the "purchase price" issue, I am in full agreement with you. I have asked many times why SISU are (supposedly) willing to...

Yes and the rent was £1.2m per year - both of these are historic facts, only of relevance to those who wish to make a point. The relevant information is that SISU were offered a 3 year deal at very attractive rent within the last few months.

That is true, but they have never explained why. ML made some rather strange comment on CWR about it "putting our business model at risk" (I think that was the quote), without explaining how the evil ACL/CCC axis would achieve this. To any rational person, if the new stadium is a reality, a...

OK, I'll give you that, but one of my flat mates did win a Film 1979 sweatshirt - so there!!

Fair point, it shouldn't really have been a surprise. (I would do the embarrassed smiley, but I can't find it - ahh, now I need it twice.....)

Enjoyed Django, but the violence did come across as a bit "cartoonish".

Excellent film, if more than a little disturbing. Some things do put a football club's problems into context!

What with all the cuddly, friendly, well balanced posters on here???

I agree with your first point, hence my "Given the above". I also agree that the pressure is there regardless, but I prefer it to be more and increasing. I also agree about the arguing about the minutiae - hence why I ignored that bit. Right, that's enough agreeing with you for today.....:D

Time to bring back slavery and throwing the gays in prison eh? :D

I believe that playing in Northampton is extremely damaging to my club. I believe that the larger the attendances are in Northampton, the less the pressure is on our owners to rectify this self imposed (in my opinion) exile. Given the above, I am extremely focussed on the attendances. From my...

To put it all in context, I went to see Telford play Bradford Park Avenue in the Conference North on Saturday. The crowd was just over 1,800 with about 20 Bradford fans. So, if we assume that there were no free tickets and no "interested locals" at Sixfields, Telford's home support was 2...

Depends what you mean by "real value". The figure in the accounts will be the cost of the investment (subject to any diminution test) - this may or may not bear any resemblance to realiseable value.

I think that in the circumstances, it was the correct thing to do to make a statement. The point is that the circumstances should never have arisen.

True, but a bit of a circular argument. People were only wondering if they would, because of our appalling record.
