    Fallen short?

In retrospect the signing of Waghorn has cost us quite dearly. He was evidently our flagship Summer signing who was supposed to fit in playing just behind our main striker, be it Godden or Gyokeres. Our investment in him however has not been matched by his return, and looking back we would have...

There were a couple of games at the start of the season where our defence were at 6's and 7's, but apart from that we were mostly competitive. By the end of the season I think the team as a whole had more belief they belonged in the Championship, which helped lead onto the improvement this season.

I don't think we 'all' underestimated the likely improvement. I remember pre season that you were particularly pessimistic, but given the young age of our team and the year's experience of the Championship under their belts, it was reasonable to expect an improvement from our existing players...

New UEFA limitations on Club spending from 23/24

There must also surely be an exception to newly promoted teams to the PL, as they are hardly going to be able to compete on a budget based on their previous season in the Championship. Imagine that scenario for us if say we had somehow got promoted this season, but next season could only spend...

Video Nottingham Forest v Coventry City highlights

Probably an effect of being on the edge booking wise, and to be fair there was still quite a bit of play to go on from there before they actually scored. If we had the ball in a similar situation 9 times out of 10 we wouldn't have made anything out of it.

    I was there when.....

Funnily enough prior to this injury there were newspaper stories about him being close to getting a call up. At the time of his injury his confidence was really high and he had developed more to his game than being a stopper. When he returned from his injury, while he was still as effective...

    Fallen short?

Unfortunately the last transfer window spoke volumes. Despite being well below us at the time Forest showed real intent in strengthening their squad and maximising their use of the loan system, while we did the opposite. Subsequent injuries, Hamer suspension, player tiredness etc have ensured...

Surely MR won't play Dabo at CB again - will he?

The trouble is that by doing that the problem remains. Referees already have the authority to add time for time wasting! I'm fine with people being traditionalists (I am for the most part too) but in respect to this issue I think we have to keep things as they are and trust referees to deal with...

    I was there when.....

Worst memory that comes to mind was the awful atmosphereless bonfire 0-0 game with Bradford at HR. Truly the worst most miserable game I have ever watched, even worse than the odd hammering over the years like the Notts County 5-1 game, where they could easily have scored 9, but the gallows...

    I was there when.....

Wasn't at that game but was there when Aloisi did the same to Danny Mills. Soltvedt then scored us a late winner despite our ten men. Another 10 man victory I remember watching was a 3-0 win in the cup at Filbert Street, after I think Boateng was sent off around half time. Mind you we did have...

    Next year Season tickets

You could have hit upon something here. I think the club should publish a running total of season ticket sales on their social media platforms. Got a feeling it could help build up its own momentum and encourage waverers to commit to buying.

Are we getting a name for ourselves off the pitch?

While I accept that reports suggest trouble has been on the up, and don't disagree that it needs to be tackled, this particular video seems to show more people stood around voyeuristically rubber necking than actually taking part in any disorder, so not sure how dangerous this situation was...

I disagree - you wouldn't be able to manage the clock by taking ages over goal kicks, throw ins or set pieces, or feigning injuries, or taking ages over substitutions or over celebrating goals, as the clock would be stopped in all those circumstances. You would only be able to manage the clock...

Wouldn't bother me, but you would have to accept 3pm games finishing at 6pm if you did that. It is widely accepted that ball is in play for no more than 30 minutes a half in games at present, which is why it is proposed, as it is more in line with the 45 minute halves we currently have.

The passage of time has probably eroded your memories, but League 2 was terrible for it. Every team that came to the Ricoh took eternities over set pieces, throw ins & substitutions. The biggest wind up for me was goalkeepers taking a minute or so to take goal kicks. Can't remember the...

So make it 2 halves of 30 minutes. Clock only runs when the ball is active. Wouldn't need a ref to manage it either & the timekeeping could be linked directly to the scoreboard so we all know where we stand.

Easily solved, you just make it like rugby whereby the final whistle doesn't go until the ball goes out of play.

    Blackburn not on ifollow

They advertise a season pass but clearly state that certain games are not included, there is no great deception going on. TV games are selected as the season progresses so there is always an element of uncertainty about exactly how many games you will see. It is obvious therefore that the better...

Fair point. Its definitely difficult missing out on a game when you're used to seeing the team play week in week out.
