Well that’s the thing for me. He’s not “clearly” going to get better. Hopefully he will, but it’s certainly not clear cut!

It’s not necessarily the fee, it’s also the risk associated with it being on just one player. He gets a bad injury that affects him permanently or doesn’t actually improve, then we can lose out significantly. I think he looks a good defender, I do not think he looks like the best CB in the league.
