    Coventry city centre

A good place for something more substantial than your standard coffee shop stuff, but still the same kind of atmosphere, is a little cafe type place on that road where the Golden Cross/Newt & Cucumber are (Bayley Lane?) If you turn down from the courtyard end it's about halfway down on the...

    Blade in peace

But if everyone thinks Sheffield Utd fans are such a bunch of Neanderthal idiots, then why get our pants in a twist when they sing a few songs. Who cares what they think or say, it was a deliberate wind up and amazingly appears to have worked.

    Blade in peace

I despair of our fans, I really do... When we have sung songs, such as Shit on the Villa, bastards in claret and blue, build a bonfire, etc.... do really really expect Villa fans to think we mean it, and actually get upset and think we are "scum"...? Yet a few Sheffield Utd fans on an away...

    The pitch

It's poor all round at the Ricoh. I know we are only tenants, but we are quite obviously very low priority to our illustrious owners. Pitch shocking. Despite a poor attendance there's not enough staff/kiosks open, and even at the end of half time there are still queues. Barely half of the lights...

Give me good old Coventry any day

I like London for a day out, but not the usual tourist places, they are packed full of people living their lives through photos on their phone. But there's some decent places to go. I quite like it at Greenwich, with the cutty sark and the little resarutants and the market. Also walking along...

Match Thread Coventry City - Chesterfield Match Thread 1st Jan 2018

I hesitate to call it poor today... after all, we won, kept a clean sheet, and moved up to the autos... so I'll call it "scrappy" instead. But we did enough, and wouldn't have begrudged us a 2nd at the end (really should have taken at least one of those chances if we could make good decisions...

We’ve Done better than I thought if I’m honest

Most definitely. I'm sure we all hoped for a successful season, buts let's face it, we had no idea what might happen, so I'd snap your hands off for a guaranteed playoff spot. Although I'm slightly concerned that the prevailing attitude from City fans over the past few years, seems to be that...

    Police yesterday

Never been to Carlisle Utd but have been to one of their "derbies" at PNE and it was certainly quite lively.

City fan accused of betting scam

I have, quite unwillingly, done similar before.... watching a stream of a game and a penalty is awarded, so bet on them as 'next team to score'..... the bet was paid out and then later recalled. Bastards. Although admittedly no more than a fiver, it's not like I was whacking 20 grand on it....

    Coventry, City of Culture 2021

Sometimes I have music when I'm on a training run, not usually down the canal though, as can't hear the cyclist approaching behind you. Although that wasn't really an issue yesterday! The main hazards yesterday were getting round the fallen/overhanging trees which seemed to have been brought...

    Coventry, City of Culture 2021

I'm quite a dedicated Fell-runner so a few inches of snow is not too much of an issue.... that's not to say it wasn't hard work, but certainly easier than hoofing it up and down mountains...

    Coventry, City of Culture 2021

I went for a run today, got on the Cov canal at the back of Bedworth Miners Park, along past the Greyhound, Ricoh, Foleshill, down to the canal basin, lap round the city centre, and back up Longford/Foleshill roads. Must admit the canal looked really nice in the snow. Usually looks pretty grim...

Match Thread Morecambe - Coventry City Match Thread - Saturday 9th Dec

I think he's more than entitled to his opinion (even if it is clearly bollocks) It's when they can't understand why they get called out on it that bewilders me...

Stoke Details Confirmed - Saturday 6th January

If we don't get a "good" crowd for this (20000+) then we can only blame ourselves as a fan base. Everyone wanted a premier league team and we've got one. Would people be crying about £22 if it was Man Utd or Liverpool? No, they'd be creaming themselves. Fairweather support in full effect again...

    Italian Football

I'd like to think so, but you know Italy is always only one small step away from chaos! Probably AC Milan going to be a casualty of overspending and unscrupulous owners... Good to see some teams looking like they might step up and increase the competition. Fiorentina always look decent but...

    Italian Football

I'd be very surprised if you couldn't get tickets on the weekend of the match. To save any hassle it's possibly worth looking at the likes of viagogo and seeing what they're going for (but add £20 quid or so to the advertised rate, as once you get through to paying, the fees etc get added on).

    Italian Football

I will certainly concede that Milan is a very gritty city, and certainly not the rich paradise that gets portrayed most of the time. But most large Italian cities are very similar... stunningly beautiful in parts, but very chaotic and rough around the edges. You'll be in for a bit of a shock if...

    Italian Football

Yes the friendships are a bit strange, but not unique to Italy... Was reading in my above-mentioned book about Sampdoria (bearing in mind my still fairly limited grasp of Italian) it seems they had a friendship with Juventus for part of the 80's and 90's... I had always thought that Juve were...
