I think a lot of it is how many away fans they anticipate & therefore cashing in on them. Certainly looks to have backfired in this instance.

Agreed although hopefully it's just precautionary. Does beg the question why Southgate didn't use the warm up games to blood the likes of Wilson, Maddison etc. so at least they'd have a little experience of the setup.
