    AFC Coventry

I think it is conceivable that SISU saw all this coming and even positioned all the "assets" offshore with Argos so that only they can pick up the pieces and start again. It may have been the only other way out of what proved to be an onerous rent/revenue agreement with an intransigent ACL/CCC...

Breaking news: Acl call off rent talks

Spot on torchy! I was going to quiz PK about that earlier in the thread, but he wouldn't bite. He said ACL haven't received a penny but the CCFC rent is funding their lease and in turn funding CCC's mortgage" . Morals! huh! :pimp:

Breaking news: Acl call off rent talks

My recollection was that about the time of acquiring the club the debts of about 45m were said to be written off. I remember being disappointed at a later date to see them still appear in the accounts as debt to xxx,(later passed to Argos in the Caymen Isles.) Reflecting on this I thought why...

Breaking news: Acl call off rent talks

I always apreciate your contribution osb and you have my thanks, but I really think in answering this you overlooked that no revision to the rent has yet been agreed. Legally it is still 1.2m a year with no matchday revenues. I think you could be confident in saying there was none worse than...

Breaking news: Acl call off rent talks

Its obvious to football fans mighty mungo jerry, Goalscorers are worth their weight in gold! The overall wage budget is constrained by FFP and we have to get used to that.... But different teams will spend it differently - one team might spend equally over all players, another might spend 90%...

Breaking news: Acl call off rent talks

What would you expect "some compromise" from ccfc to look like? They started arguing for a rent comparable to "an average for league one", 170k was mentioned, they seem to have indicated willingess to deal at more than twice that. That is compromise! I agree that ACL compromising on...

Take The Offer Or Face The Legal Consequences. - Carter

I can see where all this is going. Any rent deal has to be acceptable to a tenant or they simply won't go on paying. If it was a fair deal both sides would be content and there would not be a problem. ACL are backing CCFC into a corner. The only way out is winding up and starting again.Then...

    Tom Fisher Q & A email

I am guessing that the money CCFC have paid as match day expenses has not been paid to ACL but paid to others that ACL normally pay without which the match can't proceed - eg police? If that's true it becomes arguable whether it is "money paid as rent" which would fit in with comments from ACL...
