Agree with most of this tbh. There's clearly a player in there & he could be a real asset in time, but his tendency to ball watch & let attackers run off him is a huge weakness at the moment. This wouldn't be such an issue if he was our player as he will be learning from these mistakes but...

Most unreliable stats going to judge a goalkeeper on, or probably in the whole of football tbh. Doesn't take into account quantity or quality of shots faced.

The defence has done well. He faces fewer difficult shots than almost anyone else in the league.

If it's last year then the only player they paid a fee for (or didn't pay as it turns out) is Ahmedhodzic, one of the best players in the league.

Yeah, that is true too. Sometimes you can be too close to an incident though I suppose. I do sometimes think the point I made before about them being instructed not to get too involved backfires as then they are reluctant to assist at all even when better placed.

They're often told not to tbf as agreed with the referee (except throw ins, offsides etc.) "Assist not insist" is the usual instruction. They will be in constant contact with the ref via headset though.
