Yes, although he played more defensively for us.

He wasn't an out and out forward though as I remember. Am sure many of those appearances would also be as a sub.

    2nd december 1972

This was my first season and had just signed Hutchison and Stein. We did really well until we got beat at Wolves in the FA Cup quarter final, from when on we fell apart.

One of many Scots we had. We sold to Leicester in the mid 70's. Like Craven I think he ended up in the States and also died quite young.

We going down the January window double barrelled name approach again then?

    FA cup draw

The Champions League was revamped to make more money for the richer clubs & UEFA themselves, not because of glamour. The likes of Ajax, Benfica, Real Madrid, Bayern & AC Milan brought plenty of glamour to the old European Cup. What the big clubs didn't like was having to win their domestic...

Match Thread Coventry City - Birmingham City Match Thread - Friday 8th Dec

I trust they are enjoying being 'Wayne Rooney's Birmingham' 😂

O'Hare is a Burden on the Team

............... but as of this moment that is just a rumour. We are all presuming that he is leaving, but he hasn't signed for anyone as yet, or said that he wants/ intends to leave. Getting on his back because of 'rumours' is certainly not going to encourage him to sign a new contract for us.

    FA cup draw

Wonder who'll be the first to post about us getting a shit draw?

    Referee

Think a few of our players thought it was out. On the unseen video you can see them looking over their shoulders as they run to congratulate Wright, to see if the ref was gonna rule it out.

To all the jocks on here

Dammit, that's the most obvious omission. I go back a long way but not as far as Ian Gibson so couldn't include him. Was he really better than Carr, Speedie and McAllister?

To all the jocks on here

The ultimate Scottish Cov XI :) Goram Telfer Holton Gillespie McDonald Gallacher Carr Speedie Hutchison Wallace Stein Probably someone obvious I've missed out apart from McAllister, but I can't shoehorn him in ahead of some of my all time favourites in that midfield.

    Anyone know who this is

McInally left us together with David Bowman and both had stellar careers with Dundee United which no one would have expected when they left. I do remember that Birmingham game though. The zulus were out in force and half their team seemed to be ex City players.

    Transfer targets

Yes, that is a possibility, but equally I think he can sign a pre-contract with another club in January to leave on a free in the Summer, and just play out the season with us. Either way it will be such a pity to lose a player that's been so influential in our success these last few years, in...

    Leeds away - £45

@pusbccfc I get you go to very game and have an understandable vested interest in not wanting to pay £45 to go to Leeds, but the hard economic reality is that CCFC don't make a penny from your supporting us there. Leeds is one of the games that is likely to provide one of our bigger crowds at...

    Transfer targets

Yes. Plenty of examples. Chelsea received about £8m every season they loaned Lukaku out to play in Italy. Given O'Hare's pre injury value to us, I would not expect us to effectively give him away in January, unless a loan fee was part of the equation, albeit I have no idea what that fee might...

    Transfer targets

The only way we should loan O'Hare out in January is if we receive a loan fee, and believe there is 100% no chance of him signing a new contract. If the club believe there is any chance of him signing a new contract then they'd be stupid to give up on that option.

    Leeds away - £45

If Leeds set the bar for their own fans at £45, I would have thought they should be thanking us for offering their fans 'discount' price tickets at £37! If King was allowed to, I'm sure he'd love to charge them £45 in line with what our fans will have to pay at their place.

    Transfer Rumour Haji Wright

Whatever circumstances led to Da Silva playing centre back? That alone leads me to doubt the reliability of those figures

    Songs We No Longer Sing

Yes, sounds right. I think Rush scored 4! It's funny the things you remember from so long ago but I associate that song you mentioned with that particular game. It must have been a pretty uncomfortable time for women to go to games in those days as football crowds were extremely sexist, with any...
