    Mceveleys Tackle

I respect your opinion but I can't believe that a professional footballer goes into a tackle at that speed with both sets of studs showing without knowing that a possible outcome could be serious injury to the palyer

    Mceveleys Tackle

Shown on Sky http://www.skysports.com/watch/video/sports/football/competitions/league-one/10098915/should-mceveley-have-seen-red The more I see this the less I am convinced it was just a clumsy challenge

    Sheffield United (Away) Match Thread

So why even mention malice when it has no bearing on whether it was a sending off offence or not. From what I saw it looked like not just a very poor tackle but part of a plan to intimidate our forward line and should have been punished accordingly. Then it probably would have had an impact on...

    Sheffield United (Away) Match Thread

Surely malice or otherwise doesn't come into it, the only decision the ref has to make is whether the tackle could be construed as serious foul play http://www.thefa.com/football-rules-governance/laws/football-11-11/law-12---fouls-and-misconduct.aspx

    Looking forward

Yes, and look at the rest of the fixtures, after Crewe we have 3 tough games, 2 of which are at home, against Burton and Walsall (unless it's postponed) and then after Southend we have a run of 9 games all of which are very winnable. IMO this run of 9 games will determine our season Scunthorpe...

    When January Comes

Agree, that is one concern, how we struggle against the physical sides, but I guess that is a trade off with fielding a mobile, lightweight forward line.

    When January Comes

I can't see why some people are panicking about 1 unlucky defeat away against a very physical side that treated this game like a cup final and had all the refereeing decisions go their way. Got some easier games coming up now with a great opportunity to take 10 points out of the next 4 games and...

    Sheffield United (Away) Match Thread

The weekend could have been worse, if Wigan had won and Walsall had played we would probably be 3 points off top 2 with Wigan breathing down our necks. We have time to make amends in the next 4 games and play Walsall & Burton at home in Jan.

    Today's Results

We have Chesterfield & Crewe following on from Port Vale so if you look at the bigger picture, 10 points from the next 5 games will keep us in contention. So to me, today is just the first of 5 games we need to take 10 points from.

    Sheffield United away ?

Baxter may not be available either. One rumour is that he damaged his toe kicking a bottle in a pub. Not sure it's true though.

    Best 12 Seasons Since 1919

http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/sport/sport-opinion/stats-show-coventry-city-enjoyed-10551390 Good reading, it puts into context what has been achieved so far this season, there is only one season in that best 12 where we had lost fewer games at this stage.

    League 1 manager situation

It's also possible that other teams see him as retiring in the near future as he didn't seem to try very hard to find a job before joining us. Personally I don't think he will provided he has a real challenge that he thinks will turn out how he wants
