Oggy named our greatest ever player.

The treble signings of Terry Yorath, Bobby Mac and Ian Wallace. All in the same week IIRC. Something like that would do…

Oggy named our greatest ever player.

My chat with him was in the SISU days and he was very passionate about the poor state of the club and the need for change.

Oggy named our greatest ever player.

Unsurprisingly my GOAT would have to be Hutch. On the subject of meeting ex players, I’ve had good experiences. Stopped Willie Carr in the street in Shropshire and he was kind (and patient) enough to chat for 10-15 minutes. Others have been at Legends Days etc, when I guess they know they...

    Signing next 48hrs

Yes, in my memory it was from outside the box - on his debut. Other odd memory from that game was that Val Thomas (Danny’s brother) was our sub. Don’t think I saw him at any other time.

    Signing next 48hrs

It was the first time the brown kit was worn. He scored 1, Ian Wallace got the other.

Garry Thompson is the guest on the lounges, so probably him.

Match Thread Coventry City - Millwall FC Match Thread - Sunday 29th Dec

People complained that all the action was in the first half on Boxing Day, so clearly the plan was to redress the balance today. Barnstorming second half on its way!!!!

Think Dicks was their manager at the time. Jimmy Hill's ex-assistant IIRC. Should always mention that Tommy Hutchison scored our two goals of course!!!!

Amongst the worst decisions in the history of Coventry City FC

I remember this one! it was when we sacked Eric Black and appointed Peter Reid who would “guarantee promotion”.

    Frank Lampard Rumours

I think that’s a very interesting way of looking at it. Which of the names on the list would I see going to Luton in that scenario and think “they’ve made a good appointment”? Maybe Carsley or Eustace?

OFFICIAL: Mark Robins has been sacked

True, but there were 27 years between JS being sacked and MR’s second appointment, so we might have to be very patient…

OFFICIAL: Mark Robins has been sacked

Just really sad. Hope that the new man will be a success and we push on to the next level. Worry that this is the first move of a regular turnover of “underperforming” Managers, sorry - Head Coaches.

OFFICIAL: Mark Robins has been sacked

It was 15 months, but it was also the shortest possible timeframe for promotion to be achieved given where we were when he took over.

OFFICIAL: Mark Robins has been sacked

I was thinking the same. If the new "Head Coach" gets off to a slow start, it could all get a bit nasty.

He played very well. Much more advanced than our usual wing back position and we’ll supported by Binks.

Match Thread Coventry City - Luton Town Match Thread - Saturday 26th Oct

Went to the game with much less enthusiasm than usual given recent performances, but… Thought we started really well, with Simms and Wright looking very good. We could have been 2 up before the penalty and seemed to be well in control before their second. Couldn’t really believe we were 2 down...
