Well yeah if it's violent conduct or something but pretty logical that you can't penalise someone for "stopping a promising attack" when they failed to do so, we scored from it after all. As always, pundits, commentators etc. trot out buzzwords like "intent" & "professional foul" which fans...

What Law of the Game are you penalising him for? I'd like to see the non penalty award again, looked like the ball was in play before he blew to me.

Can't book him for stopping a promising attack because he didn't as we got the advantage.

Lovely stuff. Well done Wright - O'Hare - Saka Typical O'Nien, too busy trying to foul than play.

This is well on for us tactically with the counter attack if only we could pass the fucking ball!

One other point that's always overlooked is that in those days the games didn't all kickoff at the same time (or often even the same date) anyway. Tottenham, West Ham & Stoke were all involved in the relegation fight that season but had completed all their games the week before.

Have a quick skim through these: https://statsbomb.com/articles/soccer/metrics-and-explainers/ Generally speaking I'd say they're pretty much best of the best & lead the way in improving most metrics. The Statsbomb xG model is much more advanced than most for example...

This is what he was so incensed about... A referee correctly not awarding his team a penalty.

    Thank you Leeds!

Inclined to agree. I know it sounds bonkers given their points tally, but tactically I'm not convinced by them. They are winning a lot of games purely on the ridiculous individual quality they have imo. They'll probably still win the league but I'm not sure they can carry that momentum on into...

    Bobby thomas and liam Kitching

He gifted Leeds 2 very presentable chances early on but then was colossal after & rightly MotM. It does seem to be something that affects him early on in matches, whether it's a lack of concentration, too hyped up or it just takes him a little while to get to grips with the game.

100% it is & he could easily have gone as well. Quite plausible that the assistant was happy to turn a blind eye though given he got a booking anyway, who knows. For all the cries of "consistency" it's quite frankly impossible. No 2 incidents are ever exactly the same & no 2 human beings react...

Do we know if Michael Oliver even saw the sarcastic applause from Nunez? It was directed at the assistant rather than him.
