He worked with Marosi before that who also went to shit, admittedly post serious injury, and Wilson, won golden gloves then started his own collection of howlers. And there's clearly something going on with Dovin though I've no idea what. So, yeah, that's a succession.

That seems a reasonable assesment though we were shipping goals when Dovin was playing as well.

Whoever asked the question was right to ask it, and Lampard was right to give it the curt response that he did!

Match Thread Coventry City - Plymouth Argyle Match Thread - Thursday 26th Dec

Think Saturday was about a lot more than just being bad defensively. We looked disinterested and half hearted. As you say, we have shown the character to fight back on many occasions this season so not sure what happened at Portsmouth? Has to be a reaction Boxing day.

    PLYMOUTH FALLOUT

Yeah, I'd hate a drop off because I do enjoy games much more with 25k plus crowds. A lot of the 'new' ST holders I know were attendees who would go to a few games a year who've now gone all in so they're not new supporters as such .

    PLYMOUTH FALLOUT

Nah, it's more than that. Pre dates any talk of Robins going. But when you get to the brink of promotion, finally splash some cash and get record ST sales year on year expectations are bound to change. Be good if we could get back to the atmosphere at the CBS we had in our first season back...

He's got a point. May be the same fanbase but there's definitely been a change in attitude. Was inevitable I suppose but still a shame.

100% correct. In fact, I think watching on TV gives you a clearer view of the on the ball action. Being in the ground allows you to watch the off the ball stuff better which you don't get to see on TV. Even watching from different parts of the ground gives a totally different perspective

    Defensive coach / Goalkeeping coach

I thought the 2 goals we conceded against Sunderland were both well worked but a large percentage of the others we've conceded have been very poor.

Who would you replace Saka with? He was awful Saturday so I wouldn't be adverse to him dropping to the bench either.

Before going to shit the following season. It's never maintained.

But with the outfield players, yes, there have been failures, but there's been a lot of successes as well When was the last keeper we had who notably improved?
  13. clint van damme

    Why Collins?

I haven't wanted him in the team since last season. I don't want Dasilva in the team, I don't want Binks in the team and I'm not to keen on Sheaf being in there either But while the manager is picking them, I'll support them. I'm not going boo a player when he's out on the pitch trying to help...

But it's the howlers I'm on about. Our keepers seem to go through these car crash periods with alarming regularity. It's been happening for years.

    Defensive coach / Goalkeeping coach

Come on, look at the goals we've been conceding. Many of them have been very much down to the goal keeper. I was one of the people defending Collins after the Cardiff game when I thought he took some unfair criticism, but his stats are dreadful and the evidence of what your watching is there for...
  16. clint van damme

    Why Collins?

I've been calling for him to be replaced since last season so my opinion of him was already low before his latest buffoonery. But when he's on that pitch I'll give him my support, just like the other useless twats who I wish weren't playing.
  17. clint van damme

    Why Collins?

But if he doesnt, and I hope he does, I think the best thing we can do is get behind him Why anyone would want to get on a keepers case, one who's clearly devoid of confidence, during a game is baffling.
  18. clint van damme

    Why Collins?

I agree he shouldn't play. But if he does I'm not sure giving him shit is going to inspire him to perform better. If it did I'd be slating and booing several of them from the minute the whistle blew.

    Defensive coach / Goalkeeping coach

We've got a keeper who is conceding more than the amount of goals he's expected to and is bottom of the league for that metric. It may not all be down to the goalkeeping coach, (I mean, why does he keep getting picked?), but he definitely has a decent amount of responsibility.
